So I've gone through THIS DrZzs video.

I've installed HA on a rpi3 and it all seems ok, but I can't get my sonoff to show up - seems there is an authorisation issue (rc 5 error)

HA configuration.yaml file:

Edit: Sorry, images look bad - not sure how to resize when uploading.

Try not using a @ in the password and see if that works? Also try connect from a mqtt client (there are loads of open source ones available) that way you can see if its the server or Sonoff giving the issue

T1 fitment

So been fiddling around with the T1 and fitting into the wall using the dremel and whatever old light switches, wood, anything I could find.
I just haven't been able to get to anything yet that makes this switch fit nicely against the wall.

Anyone else have any luck? Smartkit guys - would be great if you guys found someone to 3d print something that would work, I'm sure you'd sell one with every T1.

It's a real downer, stopping me from fitting the rest I bought and from buying more.

My first HA setup
All old news to you guys, but was excited to get my first HA server going on a rpi3. The flashed sonoff basic I got from Smartkit worked perfectly. They emailed me the preset wifi ssid and password so I created an access point on my phone with those credentials. As soon as I did that and plugged the sonoff in my phone told me a new device connected. I was able to see the IP address by clicking on the connected sonoff on my phone (not sure if all phones will allow you to do this or how you would discover the IP of a connected device).

From there I just hit the IP of the Sonoff on my phone and boom I was on the Sonoff's little Tasmota web console. Changed the wifi credentials to my home wifi and that was that before I could get started on the Home Assistant part of things.

Here is the start of my dashboard - one lonely little sonoff so far.
I don't really like the darksky weather widget - so will start messing around with that.

I have a colleague who is keen to have a look at what is involved with the 3d printing. Can someone get us a sample of the plate and tell us what needs to change?

When i get a gap I'll draw one out this weekend. Instead a completely new one, a supplementary one might work too.

In other news, flashed the POW, it runs the tumble dryer, no smoke. The issue I have is that I am not getting any info back, which is the whole reason why I bought the POW. Directly off of the Sonoff interface, everything shows as a 0. Home Assistant obviously shows the same. Have a missed a configuration point somewhere?

Also keen to hear how you get this sorted out - would like to use one on my pool pump.

Ok i tried but i need to phone a friend. I looked at Blender and couldn't really wrap my head around it. SketchUp is also fighting with me and not working out as planned. I know what needs to be done but I need a better tool that a 3D printer can read. Any suggestions for a tool which beginners can use?

Anyone here comfortable working with electricity?

What's the best way to tell if I have a neutral in the light switch? Electrician didn't pitch yesterday and I'm not much of a sparky at all.

Easy if you have a multimeter. For example in my house, it users older colours than the expected blue/brown/green+yellow. I have red/black/green. Anyways, found I have a live and earth wire in my light switch sockets :(

With the multimeter it should read just over 220v, but mine read at 60v I think. There is no way that is neutral, pretty sure somehow that is the earth that came with a strange reading.
