I modded a Sonoff SV (removed resistors and added jumper wire)
I no longer require it as a garage door opened and wonder if i could use it in someway to power a 5v device such as a buzzer etc (part of a scene ob ewelink)?

Don't see why not. It can be powered by 5V.

Removing the resistors and the jumper wire i think is the issue. Input of 5v but output is dry
Yes it would have been easier had you not done so
Is it possible to bridge the dry contacts from the power source?

Btw you can still get the USB Hub from QS. Just ask for it. I got confirmation of this a few days ago from them.
IMO, for lighting QS is the best affordable option at present. Works very well with Home Assistant plus the dimmable relays work very well too. I often wonder why many have not seriously considered QS for lighting control.

Shelly has now apologised for giving us outdated unaccredited certification - we're reviewing the new documentation for submission to ICASA.Any further dates on the Shelly stuff?
