So I installed my wyze scan pan camera at home yesterday.
First had to sort out my fibre routers "access denied" issue.

So far so good.
Has issues with the scan way point function.

It's running at 360p as there is less lag.

Was lucky to still have the camera as the bastards broke into my luggage Friday night but were to dump to steal anything.

Access denied?

Upgraded the firmwares? What’s the issue with scan waypoint?

I switched the router off. So vox says they had upgrades during the 2 weeks I was away.

After switching it back on it worked for about 10 min then went off.

Had to call them twice as it went off again after my first call to vox

When I tried to set the way points the app crashes.

After about half an hour I got it sorted.

Just check if your underwear and socks gone.

They dont steal high value items that you'll report nor that they would struggle to smuggle out.

My bro in law saw his bags opened but gifts and valuables all ok.

Only at hotel realised underwear and socks gone.

Smart bastards ... no report, no case, no risk of theft case.
 
ugh... hate the struggling part, picked up the RF bridge from my buddy, upgraded to Tasmota - and can't get it to learn RF commands.

(I checked it was learning said buttons before upgrading in eWeLink)

Did you set the device type correctly?

Usually when a Tasmota device restarts, is will send out a MQTT topic "tele/xxxx/INFO3" with a payload like '{ "RestartReason" : "Power On"}'
So by either sensing when the device comes online or sensing the above in Home Assistant, you can then possibly publish to MQTT to set that option.

Was also thinking of doing something like that, although I'll have to do it periodically, the MQTT server will most likely startup after the bridge.

Possibly send it with the Retain option and QOS = 2?
Though there should not be a problem sending it periodically.

Would I be insane to install a TH16 inline with a POWR2 and hook it up straight to my geyser element, bypassing the Geyserwise system in the process and making it all very smart?

The only problem I can see is that it potentially keeps the geyser on until it pops if it loses a temperate reading for whatever reason.

The geyser should still have its own thermostat which will control the final temperature.

One would think, but that’s not quite the case with Geyserwise.

They basically replace the thermostat and their own box then controls it with its temperature probe.

The newer ones have a thermal (mechanical) cut off of 90-degrees but that doesn’t appear to be the case for mine.

I pulled and pried as much as I could to get that out but no luck and didn’t want to unscrew the whole thing and drain the geyser.
