Edit: note it doesn't have a GPIO pin if you're planning on adding a Reed switch or similar. If you could find a damned 433Mhz door contact that does both open and close this wouldn't be an issue!

Yes but it needs to get power from somewhere.

The triggers just go the button contacts.

Now you’ll need a USB type power supply or something, where mine is powered from the motors own board.

Seems like a very badly thought out product, or for a very specific market of motors with those features already built in.

Correct. Old USB cables are usually the best bet.

Not necessarily only for garage doors. I've used it to turn my alarm on and off.

Edit: oh and it's the size of a R5 coin.

I guess one could use a buck converter to bring the gate voltage down to 5v, but then you getting to the point of just getting an old SV.

Yeah but it’s not like the SV was really expensive to begin with.

So seems a very niche product that will cost you more at the end of the day.

Yeah, the images don't actually mention which is which.

I guess the explanation is Type F fits our "two pin" plugs. BR/ZA (Type N) is our new "three pin" plugs.

It's either solder/wire up an input that reduces the gate motor battery voltage to 5V to use this newer unit, or solder/wire up a relay to use the SV.
I used the SV (it's been about a month now) and I'm absolutely loving it.
Use my Echo Auto to operate my gate by voice (using scenes as a workaround for language limitations), or the eWeLink app.

@phaktza When the v3.12.0 eWeLink update came out, there was reference to the app now handling both open and/or closed status. Follow the link below and scroll down for the interesting bit. Unfortunately I don't have a DW1 to test with, can you maybe rig one up there?
