I assume you mean the status indicator when you say the gate position sensor? or are you physically referring to the position sensor inside the housing that counts the little ridges on the wheel to know how far the gate has travelled? if so i have no clue about interfacing with that off hand. The status LED though you could use to essentially monitor the status, open, closed, partially open.

from what i can determine it looks like the gate knows via the previous set boundaries exactly how far it is open, and if it is opening or closing, so wondering if this is interrogateable ?
I already got my own mag switch fitted that tells me if the gate is open or closed, but would be nice to know how far and when moving if it is opening or closing.

I had to create a new account. It retained my address details but no history of my orders.

Assume Shelly dropped as Nology now the official distributors of Shelly in SA.

I see no water irrigation options?

They do, but are now partnered with eiferer.co.za

SmartKit focuses solely on Sonoff and Eiferer will be the best place for Shelly products at good prices.

Eiferer should be trying to get the OpenIrrigation products, I suggest you try them out?

Probably missed it but what was the outcome?

ADT Fidelity told me the Samsung Security Hub not compatible with SA systems?

I installed a HYYP based security system linked to alarms and gate.

Cameras reolink based and linked to Google. Internally Wyze cameras also linked to Google.

Rest of my IoT mostly Tuya Smartlife and some sonoffs linked to Google.

Would buy a local samsung smartthings hub to test out but Google seems adequate.

And Hubitat or Home Assistant looks better.

What's the cheapest place to get +-10 sonoff Minis?

I was sure banggood had them but not able to find it.
I only need it in the next 3 months so don't mind waiting or international sites
 
Do you want the Sonoff Mini specifically ?
Why not look at the Shelly 1s instead ?
  1. They're support both AC and DC power options
  2. They take an optional external temperature probe (3!) if needed
  3. They also support up to 16A loads (I think the Mini is 10A)
They're locally certified, so if your house burns down, it'll at least have those certs when insurance asks

Yes.
Home Assistant has built-in Tuya integration, but then you can't monitor the power usage which the CBI Astute can do. So only on or off control and it goes via the cloud.
You can use a custom integragration named local-tuya which works locally directly to the device and also allows power monitoring.

Or you can go balls to the wall and replace the controller board with a ESP-12F Module and put Tasmota on.

I done messed up and tried to upgrade my Sonoff wall T1 from Tasmota 6.6.0 directly to the latest version. I purchased this from Smartkit and had it pre-flashed with Tasmota.

Where's the best place to get a new T1/T2/T3 3-gang switch with Tasmota pre-flashed?

6.6.0 -> 9.2.0 wont work :(

The upgrade path is as follow:

ps. Also many times, you need to flash to the minimal version, then to full version of same minimal version number. Then to next number.
Its a pain really.

Thats why I like the shellies on stock firmware set to mqtt. I actually have automation rules that automatically kick in and upgrade them for me.

Only way is to connect directly to it and flash 920 direct. So open it up and solderor hold on wires to flash.
