So they just waltzed in? Didn't break open a door or anything?
Since this is the "home invasion" (we 'merican ya all) thread, shouldn't we address how to stop this from happening...
Sorry what is your point ?

The point is that even if you are at home relaxing on the couch on a lazy sunday afternoon atleast keep the security gates locked...Sorry what is your point ?
If you really want to know if your security is up to scratch.
1. Switch on your alarm if you have one or skip to (2)
Pretend you locked your keys in the house and get in the house, even if you have to break a window to do so.
If you can get in you know where the first flaw is.
2. keep alarm switched off and retry above.

Family just fell victim my kids and wife. Heading home from work to see.
Low: suffered a home invasion this morning, just as my missus was leaving on the school run with the kids.
They cleared out the house of electronics and took my car as well.
Can't shake the feeling so annoyed - my home will never feel the same again.
High : Family at least unharmed, I know I have a fighter as my 9yo little girl refused to be cowed by the bastards.
She fought them and they tied her up with a DS Charger. But she tagged them, told them that they're invading her home and they're just dirty robbers stealing our stuff.
But I am grateful my family is unharmed.
It's sad man. My condolences for your loss and jubilation for your family is with you. Here is hoping that insurance if any will set things right. Invest in more uber security or emigration is only solution for South Africa..
Glad that they are safe dudeLow: suffered a home invasion this morning, just as my missus was leaving on the school run with the kids.

How did they gain entry?
just as my missus was leaving on the school run with the kids.
We had an attempted break in over the weekend. They ran away once spotted so fortunately nobody hurt and nothing taken. One later arrested. It is likely the others will come back.
I forgot about that thanks. People need to be more vigilant. It's **** to live like that but here we need to be. I *** my wife out daily when she gets in her car and first fiddle around etc but not lock the doors first thing.Leaving or exiting the yard/building is an ideal time for them to strike.
http://www.timeslive.co.za/thetimes/2016/06/01/No-more-Mr-Nice-axe-gangThe gang has been linked to 10 home invasions in the city's Blairgowrie suburb since February. Ninety percent of their victims have been pensioners.
Until recently, some of the gang's victims described their robbers as "gentle" - although other victims were simply too traumatised to speak to the media.
Sources say the robbers sneak into properties at night and wait until their victims fall asleep.
In the early hours of the morning, they make noises to lure the victims outside.
Said a source: "Once outside, the householders are threatened with an axe and tied up.
"The robberies usually last three hours, with the gang taking highly valuable but small items such as jewellery and cash.
"They are said to explain to their victims why they're robbing them. Sometimes they offer advice on how to improve home security."
The source said: "These are the strangest criminals we have ever dealt with. Sitting with and chatting to victims, asking victims for keys to let themselves out and then closing the gate, locking it and putting the keys back inside."
Lara Bath, head of the Linden Community Policing Forum under which Blairgowrie falls, confirmed that the robbers had until now been relatively "gentle".
But, she added: "One of their [recent] victims was badly injured when he tried to fight them off."
She said that, unlike other robbers, they remained in their victims' home for hours.
"They offered several victims coffee and cigarettes to calm them."
She said in one of the robberies they gave their victim advice on electric security fences.
"One of the victims was given back her laptop when she told them it had important documents on it. But this might have been because it was old," Bath said.
She said the robbers carefully selected their victims.
"They target pensioners, who are soft targets, don't have money for hi-tech security features and are easy to overpower."
She said they feared the attacks would become more violent.
"One of the robbers has been arrested but they apparently have a new member, who appears to be aggressive."
Captain Alex Vermaak, of Linden police station, said the police hoped the recent arrest of the gang's suspected leader would end the attacks.
