I need a new all in 1 printer. The old hp finally gave in.

I need an adf.
Print 500ppm A4.
Scan with adf to pdf.
Copy.
100% win7 compliant.
I already have a fax.
Colour, not needed.
Netwokable will be nice, but not a must.
Max price. Around R3000.

Could anybody suggest something, I want to go to dionwired/game/hifi/incredible etc and pick one up. Last one wasn't laser but think I should get a laser this time and would like to stick with hp.

Thanks guys

Dan

So nobody has any hp laser all in ones, makro, incredible, game, hifi, comp mania. Just samsungs for R3500 but every samsung product I've owned has given trouble, rom drive, dvd player, tv.

Plan is to wait for the HP LaserJet Pro M1212nf MFP Printer. Will be in stock at computer mania in 2weeks for R2299.

I picked up an HP Deskjet F4583 for under R1000 2 weekends back, does the job!

I'm using a small hp psc in the time being, but it chows cartridges. Want to go laser. So I will have to wait for the stock to arrive.

Look at an entry level multifuntion laser printer.

If you wish to use remanufactured toners then HP's toners are eaier to reman. = better chance of them being available

Yep, I am. seems to be stock problems though. Have to wait 2 weeks. Thanks for the re-manufactured tip.

I believe the Samsung SCX-4623F checks all your buttons ..and I saw what you said about how *you* have had problems with Samsung but then I've got a mechanic pal who runs a (now very grimy and actually kinda siff looking) Samsung at his workshop. Which he got after drop kicking a Lexmark (I think it was) that malfunctioned on him; he's also had hassles with other makes. Moreover, I see these Samsungs at the despatch desk at Rectron (at least).

Setup AND use is a doddle and, despite with the site shows, is fully Win7 compliant.

Yeah, I haven't owned anything samsung for about 5years, fancy casing with crap inside, from my experience.

Was at a friend today, His dvd-rw wouldn't open... samsung. I remember I had the same problem with a samsung drive when I had one, never wanted to open.

Well I'll go and check it out, things must have changed. Didn't see this model in the stores today, they had the same thing with no ADF and only an ADF on the color one.

Doesn't seem to be hp lasers in stock at the suppliers, according to the computer shops at least.

Just get another HP then. They are pretty reliable.

The only brands I would touch are Epson & HP.

Well I ended up getting an HP Officejet Pro 8500A e for R2399 from Computer Mania.

Its an inkjet with 4 separate inks, ethernet, wifi, little lcd with touch screen, adf, fax, double sided printing.
Print => usb, ethernet, wifi, local web portal, email, usb stick, memory cards.
Scan=> usb, ethernet, wifi, local web portal, email, usb stick, memory cards.
Fax from any pc on the network.

2200pages on a R299 cartridge(940XL) was the deciding factor. Will be even cheaper for a recon one.
The affordable lasers get 1600page on a R699 toner(85A).

In the end, I bought a Canon Pixma MP250. It only has one black and one colour cartridge, so it might be expensive on ink. I will use another printer for printing. So far, I am very happy with the MP250 scanner. It replaces a 7 year old scanner, which was grindingly slow.
