After about 9 years one of the outdoor infrared sensors for my security alarm has packed up. My security company quoted me approximately R2500 for a new sensor and I was just wondering if this was the going rate. Can anybody help with some advise?
TIA

R2.5k.... :wtf:
Do you know those sensors cost in the region of R500 or so.. I paid about R500 odd for mine the other day..

Woooah! :wtf:
For a Paradox indoor PIR you would pay R200-300.

Since you are only replacing one, all you would need is a screwdriver to fit it.

You know he said outdoor sensor right...

Oops!

In that case, outdoor PIRs normally sell for R500-2000 depending on what you want.

I recently fitted a high mount spider sensor which cost just over R2k with cable as a DIY job.

You must REALLY be afraid of spiders? :p

The ones I use cost about R1300 from the supplier. Given a bit of a markup and their labour costs, it doesn't sound too harsh.
