Homefront installation

I feel the same way. If you release a retail product, include the whole game, or at least advertise the requirement of need to download half the game. Not just state internet connection required for activation.
 
Oh well, unless I can get a copy of someones steamapps homefront directory in PE I will only be playing the game next month :(
Wont have 5 gig till next month after reset.

Go Steam... I love buying half a dvd
 
Man this sucks ass. I bought the game today. I really hope there are local servers to multi on..

I am busy downloading it now. When it's done I'll let you know? Have a 384 line soooo should be done next week some time :(
 
I need some help, i picked up my copy from bt games tonight. Got home trying to install the game but keep getting an error "failed to run install script", also tried copying all the files to a folder on the desktop & run it from there same error.

any1 else having the same issue?
 
I would say your DVD is damaged somehow, you have one of 3 options
1 Install it via steam by adding the key and download all 9.8 gig
2 Take the DVD back and get it swaped out
3 Copy someone that allready installed it's xxxx\Steam\SteamApps\common\homefront folder and adding the CD key to your account

To activate just select Game menu on top and select "Activate A product on Steam"

Oh and if you go for option 2 you still going to download 5 gig of data

it's sumthing els as i tested the disk on a notebook & it was installing.
 
There is a 1.3Gig update file you can download and extract, it has all those files, it's called "3DMGAEM.Homefront.for.Steam.Unlock.Version.Update.exe"

Edit: Before anyone complains, that is not the crack, it is only the update files.

In steam be sure to set your Location to either M-Web Cape Town or JHB depending on your location. Does make a difference in the downloads as it might be doing international at the moment.

I'm at 89% now... Weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee....

Plus one for this, I didn't know you could change your steam server. Luckily for me, it was set to Web Africa, and I have a WA account. Yay my cap is spared. (first time steam user) *cough*
 
Thanks guys, I thought about getting the game, but 5gb's will take me a week........ so now I'll look or wait for something else
 
can 1 download the update from a website? i want to use the internet connection of the company that i work for

Right so I figured out the problem after reading the web.

Sometimes the files aren't downloaded correctly, gotta verify the installation. After that, it downloaded more ****, and now it works yay.
