Difference is that pedophilia is considered a mental sickness I think and people that suffer from it needs help, not just for their own protection ... but MOST DEFINATELY for the protection of others. Homosexuality might have been considered a mental illness previously ... but people have come to see that it is not. You might say that people might come to realize that pedophilia should also not be considered a illness ... but I am not going to argue that point with you because I am not qualified enough to make a argument for or against ... I can simply argue my personal feelings..... and those are rock solid I am afraid ... as is yours I am sure.

We will have to agree to disagree on this I think.

pedophiles can be very dangerous, again it's just that certain things have certain symptoms as poor black people put their trust in sangomas who tell them to rape kids, so will pedophiles who do not adjust to their sexuality try to play out their fantasies with real children.

there are plenty of well adjusted pedophiles who would never harm a kid and who have healthy sex lives with partners who have pedophile fantasies of their own, only that they're the child in the fantasy. thus it becomes between two consenting adults and while it's still vulgar to some people, it's legal. a teenager coming out and saying to his father "dad, i have this problem and i'm scared", then it will be able to be dealt with correctly.

i think a parent's role should be accepting of their child and trying to support their child - their child is their own person and a parent is merely guiding them through life, and not living their life for them

I still dont think people should be comparing us with bestiality, pedophilia and necro's . I can understand your point kind of ... but I think the comparison is fcked up and I wish people would stop doing it. If you want to make the point of people cant help the attraction then use our straight counter parts. That is the same thing ... not fcking a animal up the arse. I am sorry to be so crude ... but it really really irks me. And yes .. I know YOU are not talking about the sexual act ... but many many others are. That is why I want it to stop in general.

the reason for comparison is simply because the majority of arguments are made against straight people. people cannot comprehend their own sexuality and have always just "been that way" to themselves. some people can at least understand that through homosexual examples, that sexuality isn't vulgar and that relationships are based on attraction and love.

it's not to be rude or crude when i make a comparison - i was very ignorant of sexuality growing up, but not being homosexual myself i grew up with different concerns and issues. i understand that homosexuals still have a difficult time in our country and the world over, and the last thing they need is being compared to less popular groups that are seen as molestors and scum, but i've been exposed to these groups and people and i see how they go about their lives, and they're not bad people either most of the time.

to put it in perspective, i think it is wrong to compare homosexuality to bestiality and pedophilia, BUT, for arguments, it sometimes is necessary to compare bestiality and pedophilia TO HOMOSEXUALITY, if that makes sense? it's not to say that homosexuality is bad, it's just another example of there being no single road for sexuality

What always amazes me about the homophobes is the fact that in their mind it's OK to look at a young girl ( say sweet 16) and do the whole nudge nudge wink wink storyand they are looked upon as good blue blooded males.

If I gay guy looks at a young guy, the same age he's an instant paedophile!

The entire justice system is essentially discriminatory as it has laws that discriminate between acceptable and unacceptable behavior. It aims to discriminate justly. Just discrimination is ok. Unjust discrimination is not ok.

If people do not want to attend something they do not want, they should be free to do so without being sued and taken out of business.
