Honda Brio

Lol if you think Honda Brio is ugly then I guess you have not seen these cars, Chrysler pt cruiser, fiat multipla and toyota sienta. Those car take ugliness to a whole new level the unloved Brio is way better compare to those cars.

Anywhere thank you all for your advice we may disagree when it comes to Honda Brio but I do agree with guys on VW UP, Hyundai i10 grand, Suzuki Swift and Kia Picanto nice stylish small cars they all special in their own way. God bless

Not to mention any of the Ssangyong cars or this Mahindra KUV

@Semisane there was mention of build quality compared to the Civic. Last year I looked at the Jazz, Ballade, Civic and Mobilio (for giggles). The interior build quality on anything below a Civic is crap. But in its defence I've seen the build quality of Hyundai go for a ball of crap as well in the last decade. My wife has an Atos and the interior is sold, I bought an i10 and it was disappointing. I looked at a new Elantra last year and its interior was really bad considering it was more than double the price of the i10.

I then looked at the Ballade, which I bought, and just accepted that this is what I'm going to get. I've had to spray silicon spray all over the place to stop it creaking - it sounded like an old wooden ship in a pirate movie. But thats where the disappointment stopped. The Honda is more focused on safety and it outclasses its rivals. I could not find any other model coming close to what Honda offered me in safety.

And I got to try out the toughness of the exterior when a brick was thrown at my car while I was doing 120km/h. Minor cosmetic damage to my car. Bumper will be resprayed and it took most of the impact, the grill needs to be replaced but brick did not hit radiator. But thats why you have insurance.

I bought the Honda on the recommendation of somebody who owns a Brio. Worth looking at ex-Avis (Rental) stock as you can pick up amazing deals and save a fortune.

As for repair costs. Well the Civic put me off as it had more to break and replace so I went for the Ballade which is more basic car. From experience all cars are expensive to repair regardless of brand. Dealership services are also more expensive than private guys who can often do the same job.

Only downside to Honda is if you want to service through them is they have fewer garages than other brands, a lot less. But that said my brother in law drives 750km one way to have his Mercedes serviced as none of his local garages (Northern Cape) are any good.

Oh as for looks, well I'm happily married so don't care what my car looks like. But yes, except for the Civic, Honda's look like the designer used his dogs butt as inspiration. They are ugly cars.

Dude, don't listen to eg2505, he's a bit not-right-upstairs when it comes to this car as evidenced by calling it the best small car out there hands down...

I always chuckle at eg2505's writing style...he can't post with normal paragraphs like the rest of us...every sentence is a paragraph, usually ended by a comma...and seldom use of capital letters to start new sentences!

YOUR FACE IS UGLY!!!!!!!

You mentioned the Swift. I like the Swift & VW UP i think they are better put together and better to drive than the Brio. I aslo believe they are better value for money. Since you asked why not the Brio. The ones I've seen are beige inside the plastics look low quality and it just doesn't feel like a quality product even in the segement where lower quality is to be expected. It might be perceived quality or lack thereof but that's what cars are judged on sometimes. The UP and Swift just feel like better value propositions and the swift handles and feels a little like a fiesta on the road which is a huge complement.
