Honda Mobillio?

Here is a detailed review from an Indian motoring website:

The Honda Mobilio has been launched in India at a price of between Rs. 6.49 - 10.86 lakhs (ex-Delhi).

What you'll like:

• Great choice of engines. Both - the diesel & petrol - are fast and fuel-efficient
• Suspension offers compliant ride quality & neutral handling. 189 mm of ground clearance is a big plus
• Light controls, slick gearshift and easy maneuverability for the city. Effortless to drive
• 1st & 2nd row of seats have ample leg & headroom. Middle row beats most C2 segment sedans
• 3rd-row access is easier than in the Ertiga. 3rd row fold-down doesn't affect 2nd row space (like the Ertiga)
• Practical 223 liter boot with all seats up. 521 liters of capacity with the last row folded away
• Honda's reliability & fuss-free ownership experiences

What you won't:

• Low 3rd-row seat is best for kids or occasional usage only. This isn't a full time 7-seater
• Noticeably more expensive than the Maruti Ertiga
• The Brio's unconventional dashboard & interior design are too basic for this class of car
• Front styling is identical to its smaller siblings. Face should have been differentiated
• i-DTEC isn't as refined or high-rpm friendly as the Ertiga diesel. Also, overall NVH insulation is poor
• Brio-level cost cutting doesn't work at this price (thin sheet metal, slim seats, uneven shut lines, missing insulation & cladding)
• Many practical features missing (seatbelt height adjustment, adjustable front neck restraints, auto-locking doors, bluetooth connectivity, full MID etc.)

Looking at Autotrader, I'm seeing 2013 Brio's being listed for R89k, that is R40k off in just over a year... that is a RIDICULOUS amount of depreciation.

fair enough, its a relatively new model, and I do agree the color of the interior on the early ones was :sick:
like one speck of dirt will stay on the seats forever.

but now the 2014 ones come with much more practical black interior, cant say how long that will last but you never know, maybe those ones will hold on to their value better.
as for the i10/picanto, aren't they also made in India?, like the figo and a whole mess of cars in that price range.....

what you saying is true but don't most cars that are new in the market, lose their value quite quickly initially, until the parts dealers have the necessary parts,
cars like the Datsun go that's just come out, how much will that lose initially.
 
I was surprised when I saw the price tag. Expected much higher. I'd say it looks like an alright buy. Best would be to test drive it and see for yourself.

The interior is actually the least of that cars problems.... its pretty much everything else.

and nope, the Picanto/i10 is made in South Korea

that's something I never knew, though they made so many i10's in India that they decided to export them to us seeing as we drive same side of the road as them.
so toxicbunny, what car would you buy for that amount of cash? that's as reliable as the brio?

please dont say etios, that is the worst idea ever in human history!

As reliable as the Brio? I personally am not convinced that the Brio is as bulletproof on the reliability front as other "real" Honda's tbh...

For that money, the Kia is right on top of the list from a driveability point of view.

I kind of classify the Grand i10 as a different car... but for me the i10 is not that great, would need to try the Grand i10 to see if its any better.

• All-rounded package in a contemporary design. Improved over the old i10 in nearly every way
• Interiors have best-in-class fit, finish & quality. Increased cabin space & boot capacity
• Fuel-efficient, practical diesel & peppy petrol. Smooth gearbox too
• Loaded with features (keyless start & go, electric folding ORVMs, rear air-con, cooled glovebox etc.)
• Comfortable ride quality and predictable handling. No bumpiness
• Hyundai's fussfree ownership experience & excellent after-sales service
• Priced lower than chief competitor, the Maruti Swift

What you won't:

• 1.1L diesel lacks the top-end punch of competition. Ordinary highway performance
• Missing climate control, adjustable front neck restraints and dead pedal
• The Swift and Brio are more fun to drive. Grand i10's steering & dynamics aren't to an enthusiast's tastes
• Rear defogger, ABS & Airbags only on Asta trim level. Should have been optional with the middle variant
• More suited as a 4 seater, rather than 5
• Automatic transmission is still some time away from launch

My wife drives the Nissan Livina, 1.6 and got lots of power and speed. Also comes in a 7 seater.
That said, the market is now flooded with Livina copies. Like:
Suzuki Ertiga
Honda Mobillio
Toyota Innova
etc.
Although I like the Honda Mobillio, I think the Grand Livina is the choice for you. (Also, I had great service with Nissan the last 4 years)

Went to Honda on Saturday, they were fully booked on the test drives so I need to make an appointment. Had a look at the car on the floor though and they are nice. Will definitely not buy the base model at all... Rather pay the 20k extra and hae the radio and what not.

That being said, I was actually looking at the Grand Livina today online after googling for other 7 seaters. They look damn nice, I'm in two minds still, wife is sold on the Honda though... Will see what happens.
 
I had a look at this vehicle a couple of weeks ago. Sitting in the last row of seats, I did not enjoy having my knees in line with my chest. And I'm not a tall guy. Those are strictly kiddy seats. Not even "part-time" adult seats.
 
I drive Honda Brio it's a nice little car it has everything you need in a basic car. It's my first car so I don't know much about cars but I have been told, by people who drove my car that it's drive nice and soft. It's easy to park If I fill up full tank it can last me 2 weeks.

Outside it look small but inside its roomy it can fit 4 people comfortably. Honestly I have no regrets about buying brio and I would not mind to buy it again. I do agree the back is ugly to other people and others like me like it. In terms of sales it's doing well I think last month Honda sold 189.

The car that is really doing well I'm surprised it's Honda Br V I see so many BR V around Rustenburg. Like someone said I believe the new brio that will come out next year or 2019 it will much better than current one.
