Horrible upload speeds

Usually I'd have a good connection. Round about 60kb/s download and 15kb/s upload with an RSSI of 83 on Neotel Prime 5Gb

I could live with that kind of connection.

Recently (last month or so) tho my connection has changed in some manner. I still connect to the same tower (PN - 332), my antenna on the roof has not moved, but my RSSI has shot up to 94, for some reason my download speed has almost doubled to 100-110 kB/s, but my upload speed dropped like a rock. I'm lucky if i get 4kB/s, usually its about 1-2 kB/s.

The last few days I have moved my antenna in every possible direction and just received the same or even worse connection. On the neotel converge map i suddenly do not have coverage for anything except neotel lite voice services.

It takes my almost two hours just to upload a 5mb file to gmail, that is if my connection did not drop.

Can anyone help me please? Is this happening to anyone else and is if fixable?

Is this due to the fact Neotel is switching to WiMax, and if so how can i apply for it?

I have the NeoGo and stay in the Pretoria-North area.

I used to get 4 bars when I connect with my antenna. Nothing has changed on my side but for the last couple of weeks I only get one or maybe two bars when I connect. The upload and download speeds are horrible slow. I don't know if it is the same issue that you are having but I am thinking that maybe Neotel has changed something on their network.

Can someone maybe shed some light on this?

Same out here in Geeenstone! In the past this occasional happened for a day or two (which was bad enough), but now its been 2-3 weeks and I can only use my Neotel over night or during early morning hours. But can't even be bothered to call the support anymore. Will cancel my Prime 5GB contract by the end of this month and will switch to cell-c! Yep, with the hope for greater things to come, Ive been a loyal Neotel customer for almost two years now. But now I've had it!!!!
