Hosting Problems

What sort of problems have you been having with them? Downtime, performance, support, billing etc?
 
Continual downtime, but the best was downtime of 20 hours on Tuesday and Wednesday! You cannot phone them their phones do not work, you can't email - they do not reply! Pathetic!
 
My 2c, if you want a decent reliable hosting service then be willing to pay for one.
 
Unfortunately in this game, the 'name brands' are the best.
Cheap (unknown) = Nasty. Unfortunately.

How many sites do you have with them and what are you paying, maybe someone can suggest an alternative to suit your needs ?
 
I agree, dont go cheap and always look for 24/7 support, guarantees and most of all...service guarantee!
 
I'm moving more and more of my stuff onto Hostgator.. They are a HUGE company with a massive staff and infrastructure so they have the physical capabilities to sort out any problems quickly.

Occasionally you will have a bad help request, but this is generally because of bad luck and you got through to the most retarded help tech - just try again later and hopefully you'll get on of the better guys.

20 hours downtime is unacceptable by anybodies standards. Financial losses aside, it can cause havoc with your companies reputation and destroy your search engine rankings.
