Hello Guys

Anyone here host with Hostking ?
I am thinking of moving my reseller account to them, currently with Afrihost.

Thanks
Kitty

Moving away from Afrihost to anyone is almost literally the best thing you can do for yourself

I personally didn't like HK. Was slow, default options were not good and spammers very easily managed to access my account and send spam email even though I had used the same 26 mixed character password before on domains for quite a few years. Moved back to using domains in the end. You get what you pay for.

Don't blame the lack of an SPF record in your DNS setup for bad hosting ;)

Having said that, I would choose domains or elitehost

I have an account with Hostking and my personal experience is that they are the best I've personally found or they must have improved alot. They use SSD disks and Litespeed which is making my site much faster than with my previous host who used SATA disks.

Domains is also good as I did try them out too. I tried Elitehost aswell but support with them is a bit of a hassle. They are good but the live chat which I personally prefer is never available and always just says they not there but they seem to have a lot of guys on mybroadband that still like them. I think technically Elitehost is good but I unfortunately need quick support.

So to me, if I was you decide between Hostking and Domains.

oh and if pricing is also factor take a look at other hosts if necessary: hostingweb.co.za

I have a few hosted with them.
Recently I experienced a problem, they responded very snotty nosed and not interested at all when a new site security got compromised in a matter of days. I have more than 10 sites with them, will be moving them away in the next renewal cycle

Despite the SPF record, which many people when new to hosting probably know little to nothing about, I find it scary that one host has this secured with no problems while the other has no security around it what so ever. Either way, I'm lazy and like things to just work :crylaugh:
