How ANCYL plans to shut down Cape

Am I the only one who seems to think that the ANCYL/WL/Cosato forgot about the recent court ruling making organisers of marches responsible for any damage to property caused by their marchers?

Remember those rumours about Malema saying stuff that the ANC supported but needed someone else to be true?

How much of what Malema has said regarding nationalization has turned out to be true?

I do not for one second think the YL would be doing this without a push from the ANC.

Also, dont you think its odd that the State hasnt reacted? This is a threat to make a province of South Africa ungovernable. Imagine if the DA YL threatened to make Limpopo ungovernable - think the government would react?

First, its a fact that the YL has in the past caused massive damage to property. I seem to remember one of the campuses of UKZN was badly damaged by them. So this would not be the first time.

Second, as I understand, this proposed strike has not happened.

Third, the threats made by the YL are real and recorded. They really did say that.

And now with all that, the ANC is saying that the DA is blaming current violence on the YL with no proof? So they conveniently ignore the issue of the very real threat that the YL made.

And to top it off, you actually expect the ANC to behave in an honest and above board fashion? Really? Ask Schabir Shaik about honest and above board. Or Jacob Zuma. Or Malema. Or anyone who went on an expenses paid overseas trip recently.

I think it was yesterday the minister of Police was quoted as saying something to the effect that the police must be taught to deal with protester more carefully, rubber bullets only nothing more. I thought he was talking about the current court case where a protester was killed. Now I have my doubts...... Possibly it was a subtle warning to police in the WC, so that some 'chommies' (sic) don't get hurt?

Given the current weather conditions, I'd rather take my chances with a rubber bullet than a water cannon... brrrrrrrrrrrr. And I mean it's not 1976 anymore, police just can't shoot live rounds at protestors for not wanting to learn in a secondary language anymore. There have to be real threats to the safety of themselves and others.

CPT will be a mess for a few days without a doubt, but the ANCYL and COSATU will be in heaps of legal trouble if they go through with this.
