1. Release high end devices before Vodacom...... if a vendor release a new devices I do not want to wait 3 months before I can have it.
2. Make it mandatory for your staff to read MyBB

  • Which new products would you like to see?
Larger long term data bundles. Like 12GB/1 year at reduced rates, like the 2gb per month for R99.
  • Are there areas where CELL C can improve its support?
Staff in stores need to be more knowledgeable of their product offerings.
They also need a timeline on when handsets which have already been released on other networks will become available. This makes for a much better answer than "I don't know"
  • Can they make it easier for you to buy their products?
Yes, as stated make the 3GB/1year data bundle easily accessible. Via ussd would be nice.
  • Where do you think the company is losing ground against its competitors?
The launching of high end hand sets needs to happen closer to the launch time of the other networks. Where technology is concerned people want it now. This caused me to upgrade a contract while desperately wanting to move to Cell C. All ended well, because the phone was faulty and I terminated the upgrade, then ported to Cell C.
However had the phone not been faulty, Cell C would have lost out on a potential customer. I'm sure I'm one of many!

Which new products would you like to see?

Options to purchase SMS bundles on prepaid.
Video calling
Allow for recurring bundle purchases on prepaid

Are there areas where CELL C can improve its support?

An online system where users can control their account themselves. No call centre hassles

Can they make it easier for you to buy their products?

Market their products (Int Call rates) at the airports.
Start an online store, where there is no need to go in store.

Where do you think the company is losing ground against its competitors?

Def Coverage - Activate the Vodacom 3G roaming!

Let me add to those that mentioned this before:

COVERAGE!
COVERAGE!
COVERAGE!

This is one area that is also keeping a lot of would-be Cell C customers (from other networks) away from the network.

How can they improve?

1. Give customers who roam via Vodacom 3G access.
2. Look at offering better handsets int e R100-R200 per month price range.
3. Give customers the option to get data/sms bundles via USSD at a good price.
4. Improve the billing process. It is quite complex.

Data sim call rates should be on the 99c for real or should be changeable. In fact I was told that I can't get my number off the data system.

How can you offer international calls at 85c and local at 99?

Coverage at my location in Kempton Park still patchy. Inside shopping malls I always have .ni signal when my friend in Vodacom has. This is also the case at eastgate

  • Which new products would you like to see?
Affordable large capped packages that can replace ADSL

  • Are there areas where CELL C can improve its support?
How about setting up a simple service on your website where people can suggest where CellC should increase/improve their coverage? For instance, if I complain about bad coverage to your support desk, a guy needs to come to my place, check it out, phone me the whole time etc. Make it simpler and less intrusive! :)

  • Can they make it easier for you to buy their products?
I think your website is brilliant. I love your "build your own contract" page and all that jazz!

  • Where do you think the company is losing ground against its competitors?
Basically coverage is your main problem. Your prices are top notch, and my general experience is positive. Don't try to cover 97% of the country with GSM, try to cover them with 3G!

Which new products would you like to see?
- LTE at the same price as 3G (ala Vodacon)

Are there areas where CELL C can improve its support?
- Improve consistency of 3G signal and speeds

Where do you think the company is losing ground against its competitors?
- Consistency of speeds of reception
- Costing - significant jump from promotional pricing has made product less compelling

1. Coverage. I actually gave a 5 Gb/month contract to a friend, because it wasn't worth the trouble to try and use it. I would get over 11 Mbps between 10 am and 2 pm and nothing for most of the day. Between 7 pm and 10 pm I did not manage a single byte. Not one.

I'm still paying until the contact expires, but there is no way I'm renewing unless there is a major upgrade in my area.

2. When I phone the call centre, I can't even be placed in the queue without specifying a phone number. That's silly for three reasons:
a. Prospective clients can't even get a hold of you at all.
b. Who memorises the cell number of the USB modem?
c. I have a contact with you, and you are going to ask my ID number and a bunch of security questions anyway. Can you really not find my contract from my ID? Really?

3. Why do you sell BlackBerry deals where the client has to MANUALLY activate BIS every month? In the middle of the month, no less? Who dropped you as a baby and how far did you fall? What's the use of a BlackBerry with no BIS?

  • Which new products would you like to see?
    Cheap data bundles
  • Are there areas where CELL C can improve its support?
EVERYWHERE. The current solution of roaming on Vodacom networks where Cell C doesn't have a tower is not a viable solution. I bought one of those prepaid R 1500 specials when they launched and could not use it properly because after a month or so a lot of people in town got the same special and the network got overloaded. I couldn't even connect for more than 10min at a time. Luckily Cell C gave me a refund.
  • Can they make it easier for you to buy their products?
Yes, data bundles that can be bought through internet banking would be nice.
  • Where do you think the company is losing ground against its competitors?
Customer service is pathetic. Almost more so than MTN. I phoned to find out where the nearest store it to buy the above mentioned prepaid 24GB/R1 500 special and none of the three operators I asked had any idea what i talked about. One even put me through to technical support. As if I have a problem with the modem I don't even have yet.

I think Cellc is great generally, their pricing and products are ahead of the pack.
I think perhaps they should get rid of RBM. It doesnt seem to add any value and is confusing when it comes to branding.
My signal where I stay in Kloof KZN is either very fast or very (relatively) slow and I have not been able to tie this problem down to a time of day. On average though I am pleased with the speed.

My ONLY complaint about Cell C - Coverage in some of the more out of reach areas is nonexistant, while Vodacom has 3G speeds there

Cell C is pretty much the Robin Hood of modern day South Africa.

If it weren't for them, networks like Vodacom (Sheriff of Nottingham) and MTN (Mortianna) would never have dropped below R2/MB and they would still be making money as if they had a monopoly.

Keep pushing the bar Alan! We're all behind you!

I'm seeing very poor HSDPA coverage in the Southern Suburbs of Cape Town lately, so I would like to see that improved.
Uncapped mobile internet or much higher caps would also be nice, seeing as smart phones use a lot of data, yet you offer contracts with as little as 100mb. Seriously?

I think the main concern of anyone thinking of moving to cell c is COVERAGE ... they have already made headway with pricing and package options ... they really need to improve coverage quickly, in order to capitalise on the marketing gains from the lower prices. Delaying this issue will cause mass exodus after signups and people cannot make use of the cellc network

I have no new suggestions, just keep doing what you are doing.
You are simplifying packages. Great
Keep on dropping the prices and sticking it to larger providers. Well done.
I love your 3G prepaid bundle data package. No contracts, just data.
I tells me that you are confident enough to keep customers using good service and not by tying them into lengthy contracts.
Keep it up!
