How can the DA grow?

So if you wanted the DA to grow, what would your advice be?

There is certainly potential to grow the vote further, with 61% of Indians and 67% of Coloureds voting for the DA.

Also the DA should spends lots of money in PE, JHB and PTA in the local government elections in 2016.

I would also advise the DA to focus more on their achievements than attacking the ANC when they are campaigning. Urban voters will know about the shortcomings of the ANC. DA should articulate a better future etc.
 
Well for starters I think the DA should start campaigning as from now already, turn themselves into some kind of namebrand where people can think it's "cool" to to vote DA. Or just get Rihanna and Lil Wayne as the DA mascots.

I would advise them to do as they did. They would be terrible opposition if they didnt point out the ANC`s shortcomings. Where the DA governs, they govern well. Where they are the opposition they want to be the strongest possible opposition. It is their duty and responsibility.
 
Running the Western Cape like a boss is not going to do the trick alone.

My immediate advice for the DA is directed at Helen Zille herself. Resign...and do it now. Hand over to a black leader in the party.
Change the branding of the party, get rid of the blue motive. It just reminds the masses of the NP. Change to green,black and yellow.

That's why I said "for a start" :mad:

Concur on maybe a leadership transition but not mandatory.

I had to go look up the NPs colours cause I had orange at the back of my mind from when I was a kid, by jove, I was right. Orange and blue. Nothing wrong with DA colours except if you want to confuse them like AIC did...
 
Bit tongue and cheek but Why cant the DA get votes with food parcels as well? Surely you need to give the ANC their own medicine!
Tell the masses that social grants are not from the ANC but from taxpayers and ideally their life would be better with a job.Make sure the Western Cape is very well managed...(keep it that way)
Get out there to the rural areas
I think they should be cheekier with the ANC and not harp on same issues but rather have campaigns that show the ANC lied in like a before what they said and after poster on say social media example Saying Cant blame apartheid at one speech and a year later blaming apartheid at another speech

The only person here talking sense, and you goons get flamed for it!

The DA is perceived to be a white 'elitist' party. The only way of changing that is to have a black leader, and spend the next 5 years changing that perception.

By elitist, they need to talk to the man on the street, not the middle class one living in the northern suburbs

Careful there, you might alienate the white voters and it could cost them WC.

And therein lies the dilemma that they face, to gain more support they will have to say and do things that will upset their base
 
The DA tried their best but nothing is going to stop the slide into darkness that is the future of South Africa. If you are not implementing a plan to emigrate, you are a fool and deserve what is coming your way.

A lot of people had the attitude `why vote , what difference would it make'...
Some just assumed that the ANC being so corrupt would win anyway ...

It is a real pity though because things MIGHT have turned out differently ...


DA should STOP fighting with the other parties' ... it wasn't cool that they decided to insult each other before the elections.

Also - STOP the RIDICULOUS spamming of stupid smses to the voters at various times.
 
Start campaigning for the 2019 elections right now. Here's a novel idea stop focusing on the ANC and actually the stop the negative campaigning. Zille needs to resign or become less seen in public, black leaders need to be more visible and on the ground. Actually campaign properly in KZN there's a large number Indian, coloured and white voters not even on the voters role, also form an Alliance with the NFP and have a similar campaign where DA focuses on the more Urban areas and NFP focuses on the rural areas and townships.
 
My advice for the DA to grow is that they continue to use the same manure that the ANC ,EFF and other political parties use to stimulate growth.
All are very good at creating manure. So keep on ingesting it while the rest go out and do an honest days work for an honest day of pay, and pay our taxes for more manure.

If the voters want nationalization and other communist crap and lawlessness and dwell around in the past instead of working for the future, then the DA shouldn't want those types of voters.
 
I always found it odd that the DA is blue - which is traditionally a conservative colour.

I agree with the need for a black male at the helm, and changing their branding to a more liberal colour. The voters that go lost because of this transition will be caught by other minority parties - not the ANC. Also change political branding from opposition into ideologue and policies.

'Forgive and forget' only happens in the movies. You underestimate the level of mistrust the majority of the people of this country have of the whites. Am an outsider, and so it is more obvious to me

And on the communist crap, I think that most in SA would prefer a social democracy like in Europe as opposed to the capitalist excess that is the US.
