How do I convert airtime to data on Nexus 7 tablet?

I am on Cell C prepaid.

How do I convert airtime to a data bundle on a Nexus 7 tablet?

It has no phone dialer and it uses a micro Sim, so I can not stick it into my phone to buy a bundle.

Any ideas?
 
Yes I tried that, but I did not see a way to convert to bundles.
 
Still sitting with airtime with no way of converting to data bundles. Please help Cell C.
 
Yes I have tried a few dialer apps, but they do not work on the Nexus 7.
 
What phone do you have? If you line the pins on the SIM up correctly, it will work 100%.

Doesn't help if you have a SIM card that clicks in and out though ( Maybe an old phone? )
 
Does Cell C really expect all Nexus 7 users to move their SIM cards to a phone that can take a micro SIM every time they want to buy data bundles???

Does Google really expect all Nexus 7 users to move their SIM cards to a phone that can take a micro SIM every time they want to use USSD?
 
CELL C should catch a wake up call to be honest 8ta app works straight out of the box.. Open and your information is displayed and you can recharge via their app. If CELL C want market share they better catch a wake up call.. MTN,VODACOM,8TA have those options on their website login portal...

When will CELL C implement this and please don't tell me due to abuse if so then employ trustworthy staff.

Have you asked Google why they don't provide a USSD client for their tablets with 3G?

Does the rest of the world still care about USSD? What about when you are using a mifi device? Cell C needs a web portal to convert airtime to data like Vodacom has.

You are right about subject, Cell C should have a Web portal.
Regarding your comment, I don't think it is adequate. Yes, the rest of the world do care about USSD, it is the simplest way to access network services. Similiar story to omiting POP3 support in your Email client.

If the rest of the world cares about USSD why do we not see a large outcry of people internationally demanding USSD support on Android tablets? I don't see any open issues relating specifically to tablet USSD support: http://code.google.com/p/android/is...D+Type+Status+Owner+Summary+Stars&cells=tiles Also check XDA.

Perhaps it is because first world countries have widespread Wifi and alternatives like web portals/apps.

On your analogy, to me it seems similar to offline sync with Outlook. Here and there a user would want it but generally the world have moved on.

Why hasn't any South African reported the problem either?

There do seem to be a lot of people asking for a USSD API though:

Why moved on? USSD is very good at what it does.

I for one would not want that API as: Security Bug Can Wipe Out Your Android Phone By Visiting a Web Page cause you can do alot more to a phone via USSD than just communicate with the SP.

And so is Web portals. Even better would be dedicated Cell C applications to help you manage your account like My Cell C does for call data.

Then again I guess Cell C doesn't have all the bells and whistles and rather give us cheap data.
