That is correct what you have stated. The jobs in CT are more concentrated whereas Joburg they are pretty much 'anywhere'.

If you are looking for Woodstock, try Upper East Side. It has decent security and is quiet but rentals are becoming shockingly high just like CT in general.

We are glad to be leaving CT as we got tired of pocket change salaries and insane rentals

It is beautiful but for what I want it isn't most beautiful. It is just overpriced and salaries are vile in CT which takes the enjoyment out of it because normal people cannot afford the house 'under the mountain'

Not sure about Thornton but its close to industrial area which is why its very cheap for Cape Town. I know of someone who bought in Thornton thinking it would be 'up and coming' - usual marketing speak by agents - with little return.

Look at crime stats for the area and ask around but be careful where you buy in CT
