How do you clean your spectacles?

Lemme let you in on a little secret.. old (used) cotton underwear.

Those blocky-patterened baggy y-fronts your dad/granddad used to wear (we used to call them santa margaretta's or summin) works best, probably due to their large size more than anything else but I tell you nothing, and I mean nothing cleans glass like those puppies.

Used because new ones tend to leave streaks, fluff etc. also they don't 'feel as absorby' as ones who have been through the mill, so to speak. New cotton will actually work too, but seriously, I have a special drawer for underwear I should've discarded but that I use exclusively for cleaning my car windows. Uh-huh!

Back to glasses tho, better clean them at home then or you'll get that 'is that old underwear in your pocket or are you just very glad to see me'?

Vodka works wonders as well.

Wet a tissue with some vodka - wipe it on the lenses - use a dry tissue to dry / polish.

Then this will take care of the dust on the inside of your screen Spiff.

My pleasure :D

:D:D

but seriously it works - I got tired of people poking those new fangled LCD screens that came out in the 90's and leaving greasy finger marks on them - so in desparation I spat on the screen in front of them and cleaned it off with toilet paper - they never touched the screen again after that :D but the screen was damn clean!

Bought some "Anti mist Anti Static" spray from specsavers earlier. I'll give it a go on my goggles after they get their evening bath.

Wash with sunlight dishwashing liquid and hot water using my finger tips. Then polish with a Hoya microfibre cloth.

Been wearing glasses since 1 yr old. NEVER use toilet paper, tissues, etc apart from just dabbing dry. No rubbing. They are VERY abrasive on the microscopic level and will eff up your lenses over time.

I just use the cloth, but when really dirty I'll literally hold them under the tap and rub them with my fingers and then use the cloth after.

Are you even sexier now Ock?

Born with cataracts?

[-]Personally, I use Nivea body wash and dry with a cotton towel, then dust lightly with [/-] ..... Oh SPECTACLES

This stuff is awesome, just use a little drop on each lens. For regular maintenance I just use the cloth on its own (its that good).

For fatty stains, methalyted spirits and a soft cloth to dry.

I've used a camera lens cleaner as well out of desperation. It has a brush for the particles and a marker for oily spots.

The glasswax is alright, but it does not work as well on coated lenses. If you can find them, the Zeiss lens wipes are great.
