How does IE work

The title might be misleading, but here is my question. I found that google earth only works on firefox, only if IE is okay.

The other day if deleted flash player from the win 7 computer. Just now started up the scanner and it says Flash player is missing. I open firefox and install flash. But the scanner said, no flashplayer. So I open up IE, and install flash from there, then the scanner worked ok.
Does google earth then use IE to work. At home you will only realize this if you add a proxy to IE.

Firefox does not support flash. It by default ignores all flash scripts. There is a good reason for it ...
