How important is local content to you?

Have not had dstv or mnet for decades,

Had toptv for around 6 months then gave up on it, same for ovhd.

SABC on and off, longest I think was for around a year, around 10 years ago.

Major traction though would ultimately be the "black" market - which is price sensitive to the extreme. Simply re-broadcasting zim tv, and other regional tv channels would likely capture a good portion of that at little cost.

I understand the need for local content and I will say that the locally produce Netflix shows are really good, unfortunately anything from the SABC or E tv is rubbish to me. I have not watched these channels for the past 10 years, as the content from back then was already starting to become horrible.

In all honesty. And I just cannot wrap my head around it, South Africans can not act. No matter how hard they try, it comes out crap. Now I am a white South African and I mean this with the utmost respect, I don't want to step on anyone's toes. I grew up seeing the difference between a person who wants to act and went to study it, and then there is us. We just can not do it. But anyways good luck to dstv. They must not forget about Amazon prime which also has brilliant content, I have Netflix and Amazon and still paying less for both than having dstv.
