Hey all,

On Monday morning I filled out the online form where iBurst will call you back and help you sign up.
Its Thursday and still not heard a thing? Really want to get up and running again, could do with internet before the weekend but doesn't feel like that's going to happen.

I've already got a USB modem, just want to sign up for the 20gb month to month deal... So how long does iburst take to call you and what will I be required to do (want to try get everything ready to help speed up the process).

Regards

PM Mel on username iBurst on this forum and she will assist you.

You'll be lucky to get some kind of response.

DSTV approximates their waiting times at their call centres at around 58 minutes. Of course they didn't know it is peak season and couldn't prepare standby staff!

Appalling service!

Multichoice has bought iBurst? I am in for a shock when I get back to the office...

They never respond. I filled an upgrade enquiry in and after waiting I think it was around 2 weeks I gave up and phoned.

I'm a student, I do not really have the money to speak for hours on the phone :-/
I generally do not call, IM and SMS and ocassionally receive calls.

I shall send Mel a PM on the "iBurst" username and see if she can assist me.

Thanks

How long would it take if I were to do it over the phone (the phone call and after the phone call until I have an active account) ?

Another quick question, if I were to call on the weekend... Would things still happen? Would I be able to call on the weekend and sign up?

I'm so glad you didn't sign a contract and rather opted for the month-to-month. I used to be on contract, but my biggest issue with iBurst was, and still is, their incapable, non-existing HelpDesk. Don't bother to phone, because the call will be dropped after holding on for 20 minutes, don't bother to e-mail, because you will never get a response back. The only assistance I ever got, was from the iBurst reps on this forum.

I would NEVER get a data/internet contract in South Africa, the internet is too dynamic. Changes too often and quickly.
A good deal comes along and within 6 months there is a MUCH better deal out again, Cell C "Whoosh" deal and then 8ta's "go big, go 10GB" deal followed that... Although that is mobile internet but still.

Also iBurst will just be a temporary thing, just for a few months.

iBurst service leaves much to be desired. Why is it that service providers in South Africa think they are God's gift to consumers? I have given up complaining about the poor service from iBurst as it is a futile endeavor. Their service department seem on permanent vacation. As soon as a package becomes available that is comparable, I am out of their account books.

Having being a long time Iburst user. I cancelled with them after 3 years seeing that after jannie left everything went down hill. I wouldnt even recommend Iburst to my worst enemy thats how much I hate them

I used them a looong time ago, had the 2GB package and afterwards you got uncapped 128K I think it was...

Left just before they bumped up users to the 2.5GB package as I got ADSL. Now need iBurst again until I can get ADSL.

So yeah. Sandra tried to call me earlier but I missed the call and then I got an sms asking me to call her back, each time I try call the number its engaged. Doesn't even ring... :-/

i actually get good service from iburst, well at least from the guy i signed up with. when i have problems i phone him direct. but very happy with the connection

So got an email from someone from iBurst and they asked me to send them the application form, copy of this and that etc.
Sent it all through yesterday. Lets see if I am lucky and up and running when I get home. :D

Awesome, so I was given my username and password.

I am assuming the dial up account be:

Username: (myusername)@iburst.co.za
Password: The password I picked / was given?

Also I cannot log into the iBurst website... It says it unavailable or something. Any idea why or when it may be fixed?
