How long does it take telkom to allow adsl?

Hey, recently moved into new flat, got phone line installed, ISP ready to go and when connecting I find out Telkom has given me a plain telephone line that doesn't allow adsl(?). So 2 weeks ago I went into the store and asked them to change it and apparently it's been in process, even got the guy to make it a urgent notice last week and today its still not on. It's been about a month wait now.

How long does this usually take? because at this rate I'll be paying for something I never plan to use.

Plan for may more frustrations in the future when dealing with Telkom, strange bills, over billing , lost queries.

I didn't. The guy helping me in store dealing with the order was certain he signed me up for adsl only but here I am with telephone only.

Ag I'm sorry I miss understood what you meant.
But to answer you question it normally takes about 30 days.

I have moved twice and even then it takes a month to transfer line.
And to complain and escalate it only delays it further as I'm sure there are sadistic bastards working there.

Also create a account online and there you can see the status of your orders as well, does not tell you much but at least you can see if it's in progress, cancelled or completed.
