How long for SARS audit on prior years?

Waiting for an audit and refund for 2016 (all requested documents have been submitted).

Call centre agent says 21 working days for CURRENT year audits and 90 days for prior years.

Anyone had recent experience of this?

Had an issue on a 2007 tax return where an idiot tax consultant said I could claim for some vehicle travel despite me never having kept the required logbook. I submitted the claim as per his instructions and then SARS requested the logbook and the consultant Ghosted me. I eventually wrote a letter explaining this and resubmitted the tax return removing the vehicle claim in its entirety and for 3-4 years they kept demanding the logbook no matter how many times I said I never had one, and was no longer trying to claim it. Eventually gave up and ignored it despite it withholding all future payouts as I did not know what to do next. Then suddenly someone finally managed to get the system past what it was stuck on and I got 4 payouts at once for the withheld years. Can take years if there is any kind of issue.
