How many hours do you sleep each day?

I can't answer this question. It depends.

But I'm usually never asleep before 2am. And I'm usually up at 9ish. Don't ever call me before 9am!!

I often have to pull all-nighters to get essays and papers in, so sometimes I'll go up to 40 hours without sleep. I'm half dead after that though.

Since I stopped drinking, I've never slept better - frikkin amazing.

I go to bed anywhere from 10pm to 11.30pm weekdays and read for an hour, sleep through till 7am.

When I was drinking, I'd go to bed the same time, wake up at 2am, 3am, 4am and eventually get some sleep and get up feeling **** at 7.30am

In summer, that's a whole different ball game.

I basically get up when the sun comes up, so in winter, that's around 7am.
In summer, it's 5am

Can get by easily on 5 solid hours sleep.

As for staying awake - I can do 24 hours and then start feeling k@k.
If I push it through to 36, I start feeling wierd.

Most I've done was travelling in Europe - 50 hours - after 40 hours, I got drunk and ended up walking into a solid glass door almost breaking my nose - hehe.

I havent had more than 6 consecutive hours sleep in almost 10 months.

usually between 12h00 and 02h00 - up again at about 07h00 for work
i am NOT a morning person, so getting up is reaaally difficult
but once the caffeine kicks in... ;)

Between 23h00 and 00h30. Up at 07h00.

"O seven hundred hours? What the hell does the 'O' stand for?"

"Oh my g0d that's early..."

:D

... maybe the time of this post will tell you how much real sleep I actually don't get ...

For me I usually go to bed between 2am and 6am and get up between 9am and 12pm depending if I need to meet clients. I just work much better at night :p

I always try for 11 pm, but it always turns out to be 3am like most people here. I'm up at 7.. or I'm supposed to be but its always a rush as I can never get out of bed. Except on weekends when I can sleep I usually get to sleep around 4 and I'm up by 8.

Though I usually go on like that for about 2 weeks and then crash and sleep most of the day one sunday.. Think I'm going to book in my weeks leave due to me though this week and sleep the whole of next week!

On a side note. To much sleep is also bad for you.

I sleep around 7 hours (11-6), I spent about 2 hours total driving, eating and other such, and the other 15 hours a day I am in front of my PC :) life is good!

Wow, most of you guys talk about your 4 to 8 hours of sleep. Sometimes I sleep for up to 14hours

My sleeping pattern is so deranged too. I have a LAN at my place on Thursdays, which go on till 5am Friday most of the times.

On average I sleep for 10hrs and try go to bed at 12:00 to 01:00. Never always like that tho, next thing you know its 6am :(

Sleep Time

So tell how much sleep is really needed in the evening, when i mean sleep i mean sleep as in enough for the mind and body to rest properly.

And it should be constant.

Why i ask this is cause i see myself one of these days with a problem, a sleep problem, i am starting to study and work and start a second job and have to juggle fitness in the mean time. I just dont want to wear my self, thus the early planning.

When i was a tad younger i would not mind a lack of sleep, but having a career now and more things to look out for, i cant risk it.

:D

The official doctors version is 8 hours.

Depends on a billion factors though, so its impossible to really answer that. I would not go below 6 hours in the long term.

age, diet, lifestyle, weather, traveling etc... there many factors in how much sleep you need... but truth is, I ain't getting enough, I wake up at random intervals and then I gotta wait 30 min to fall asleep again :(

yeah 8 hours is a good figure, and i feel great when i get a few nights at 8hrs.. but usually i'm surviving on 4 or 5hrs a night...

the most I got was around 18 hours, do not ask me why but really never felt so tired in my life, actually took the whole sunday and slept like a baby should sleep........

On roughly I sleep around 3-5 hours a day, If lucky as Under stress pressure as Have dead lines to deliver.
