So the question:

In 2015 & the age of stupid congested traffic & so sophisticated automated gearboxes how many still have a 3-pedal car *AND* still enjoy it?

Even my good family friend who is a die hard manual car fan; he has a F20 120d with M Sports Pack & all; said his next car will be a 2-pedal car...

Times a changing....what's your view

Not sure if I would do a conventional auto over a manual though, but that will be decided by a test drive when I go shopping again.

Even the "normal" autos have changed dramatically in recent years.
 
Been driving with an auto box for 3 years now and loving it. Got into a buddy's citi golf 2 days ago and had no issues adapting to manual. As [XC] said, its a question of how many of us want to
 
Until auto boxes cost less than manuals they won't disappear.
 
Depends which type of auto. If it's a decently made gearbox, yeah, if it's a cheap four speed automatic (or similar) as found in the cheaper Kia's/Hyundais., then I'd stick with manual. I recently made the move from manual to a dual clutch automatic, I don't think I'd buy another manual vehicle.
 
I'll only buy an automatic if there is no manual option available in the model that I'm looking for.

DSG has a very similar feel to a manual... but less work to do. :)
 
The Chev Spark 800cc we've got is more fun to drive than my Audi. Automatic for weekdays, manual every other day.

Have you had a chance to ride any of the Honda bikes with the auto boxes? Rumour has it they are pretty darn good

As to the OP - going auto next time round, manual is great when you can have some fun on the road (or should I rather say on the track), not so much when it's the family car
 
all 3 cars in our household are 2-pedals. Can't see a reason to buy a manual again.
 
I currently do not and have never liked auto. Will stick with manual for a long time.
