The bikes I speak of don't use automatics at all.
They simply cut out the engine and allow to you shift quickly as you could do with a normal clutchless change but much faster.
This is only possible due to modern fly by wire and ECU controlled systems.
And there is a LOT that is new. It's completely different systems.
Dual clutch systems aren't old technology being perfected. It never existed nor was possible before.
I also don't understand your statement about having the next gear ready. The next gear is always ready on a motorcycle.
