Biggest bit of advice I can give you is going to be controversial.

Get yourself a nice luxury vehicle. It turns the 2 hour dredge to work and back into something you look forward to.

Changed the way I think about my work when I got mine. Stopped being tired and frustrated when I got to the office and got home, and positively affected my work ethic and job satisfaction.

Sure, it is expensive and you could put that money to use somewhere else better, but it's a great motivation tool.

YMMV and this is probably particular to my personality type, but it worked for me!

Agreed. Don't forget it's got to be automatic. I changed my mindset from it being time wasted in traffic, to music-listening time in a pleasant environment.

Definitely agree there, especially on the music listening part.

Automatic, heated seats and/or climate control with good sound system is the one thing that makes the journey in a car great.


That being said the lad is 21 so probably doesn't have too many options just yet unless there is money coming from somewhere else.
