Ok getting my 1st iPhone this weekend, having been on BlackBerry for the pas 4 years.
And yes I'm only getting an old iPone 3GS as that's all I can afford :)

Anyway, I only plan on using it for light browsing, Facebook, Twitter (3 times a week) and Whatsapp.

No email, no skype, no downloading, no streaming.

Would 250mb be sufficient for this?

Thanks in advance!

Yep, that should be fine. Especially if you have WiFi at home and work

Just make sure that you don't get a contract and that if something were to go ape you end up with a zero balance instead of a massive bill.

Luckily I'm on prepaid and not contract.
Also another question, do apps update themselves? If yes, can that be disabled?
I just have no idea what to expect with this, after not worrying about data for the last 4 years

It just notifies you of app updates. You can the choose to update them or ignore it. I normally wait till i'm at home to get wifi access before updating.

Get a 250mb sorted it carries for basically 2months so if you need you can by more or so or just a top up of 50mb if your close to the 2nd month end to save some cash great plan and that's how I work too so you won't be sorry 250mb is perfect and can still do the odd major app store updates when you need too

Basically 250mb about r99 and your safe
