How much debt do you have?

For me food tax petrol medical aid insurance and basic living expenses.....

None. Well 40k on a credit card I guess.

Will probably reshuffle funds to clear it this weekend or next so doesn't really count.

I like to think I have a handle on my debt - mortage and a small short-term personal loan as well as a credit card. All other debts before have been settled including vehicles so now just noming away at the personal loan and repaying the credit card well above min requirement. Nice to see I'm on the low end of those scales, although that avg is frightning ( 14 accounts?!? )

Those averages are scary.. I though I was massively over exposed to debt because I'm doing renovations at home and the average sa person makes me look like a lightweight

How the hell do you have a store card in the 250k to 400k bracket?

I'm above those averages though...

I'm way above those averages.
House, flat, 2 cars takes me to over R2m.

Don't really have any short term debt though

Just two loans and a CC. Total owing comes to about 25k. SO owes about 40-60k, a combination of loans, CC and store cards.

Am looking at buying a car, but want to clear my loans/CC first to increase affordability.

R0 - cash only, if I don't have cash for it, I either save for it or don't need it. Credit is evil:). Learnt that lesson a while back when lost all in 2008/2009.

got a bit on my Credit Card (about 7k). all of it is down to academic studies payments. I view the debt in a more positive light knowing I didn't just blow the money...

other than that, completely debt free.

R0 - current month's credit cards that will be paid in full at the end of the month

I'm way above those averages.

Yup, also have 2 properties. Also sitting around that mark.

But at least one of them is income-generating.

No debt. Just sort out store accounts and credit card every month fully settled. Credit cards are very dangerous high limit on them but comes in handy for emergency money then shuffle one card to pay for the other card.

Pay everything by EFT to avoid cash deposit fees.
