With the levels of poverty in SA? No way.

Averages, and those are averages based on the formal economy.

I'd say the average "income" for a household in SA if you included unemployed people and informal sector, that number would probably fall down to R100k at the outside.

If you worked on averages for this country, an average dual income household is probably around R600k.
I don't know given the size of car and house the average suburban seems able to afford. Suppose if you factor in the masses it will bring down the average but if we just look at working professional that average looks higher to the eyeball.

Suburban dwellers are generally all above average, or living on extreme levels of credit.

Good. And once you don't ticking the first option, please finish washing the dishes. Thanks Quinie.
I assume you tried typing "you're done"...?

Nah, buddy. My dishwasher does that while I sleep during the night. Stop being poor, mate...you'll feel better.

Difference being the McDonald’s worker in the US had a monster student loan they’ll never see any use for, potential of a medical emergency bankrupting them and somehow will never own a property even though interest rates are near non-existent.

Oke earning that in SA is likely already living in a house of their own.

So I would say we are comparatively rich compared to Americans in that same directly converted bracket.
Not the McDonald's worker, they'll get coverage, it's the tier above that but under being able to easily afford own Healthcare.

why would anybody answer a stupid poll accurately.
But is it accurate at R1m+? And is that gross or net?
Here in Austria, lowest paid person I know that's not due to doing a part time or apprentice job is like R700k gross.

In South Africa, skilled jobs should generally be hitting R1m gross once you get toward the end of the ladder, since you'll get like R600k net from that.

Depends on the industry. In software development R1m gross is pretty mid-level these days. A lot of senior devs are making double that.
