if the guy is around when i get back to the car i give him something because if he wasn't there then how could he have been looking after the car BUT when you go to a shopping centre you pay between R10 and R16 to park for two hours and at the airport at least R35 for the same two hours so why not give the car guard R5 if he did actually stand around the area and prevent some tw@t from taking away your hubcaps or wheels

Exactly. Instead they outsource the security of your vehicle on their property to a skelm middleman who charges street people money to "guard" your car. Legally, any security needs to be registered with PSIRA.

This way the shopping centre gets out of the responsibility they owe their clients.
