How much does an abortion cost on average?

She's on a hospital plan. She realised now how stupid that option is.

Gov hospital if she doesn't have the funds.
Mary Stopes gives you drugs to sleep while they do it. Gov you are awake.

Good luck.

Oh yeah if you want anaesthetic with the surgical extraction they charge you an extra R800 at Marie Stopes. So if she can stand the pain then she can pay R2900....

Don't be an accessory to murder. Tell her to have the kid and if she can't take care of it, put it up for adoption.
What is worse than dying? Would you rather this child have a chance to live and suffer?

She should spring for the extra R800. Not something you want to experience apparently.

Some babies are just not meant to be born. This world is already overpopulated with unwanted kids.

Because jux + alcohol = fun times and long lasting memories.

Nope don't buy it at all.

I've dopped plenty in my life and taken some hard drugs too...never managed to have unprotected sex while doing either.

And before you go for a joke...I'm referring to the unprotected part never happening, not the sex.

You guys are largely referring to a late-trimester termination where physical and/or surgical intervention is required. If the pregnancy is in the first trimester you are given medication which triggers the termination, which is comparable to a early miscarriage. The woman experiences essentially a heavy period, with possible cramping, and that it that.

The longer a woman waits to terminate the pregnancy, the more physical intervention is required. Unfortunately the whole stigma surrounding abortion is contributing to women delaying it for too long.

Haha no, I don't live in CPT. But I know of at least 2 people being alive because of a broken condom :p

Why does everyone keep thinking I live in Cape Town?

If I owned Cape Town and Hell, I'd rent out Cape Town and live in Hell.

I can't really comment on this one, too many mixed emotions but can I suggest that if she does go through with it, strongly advise her to go see a councilor/psychiatrist afterwards, she will need it.

No, surgical can also be done after 9 weeks if I'm not mistaken. They don't cut you, they just suck the feutus out... I should state it's early surgical abortion.

Marie Stopes Medical Process abortion, sometimes referred to as the abortion pill, uses pills/tablets to terminate a pregnancy. The first set of tablets is taken orally in the clinic and the second set is taken later at home. Early surgical abortion (4-12 weeks) involves a gentle suction method, which the nurse will use to remove the pregnancy from the uterus. This is a very quick and simple procedure that takes less than 5 minutes. The Surgical abortion (12- 20 weeks) is a surgical procedure where the pregnancy is removed vaginally it is performed by a doctor

Cause of that "do all the gays in Cape Town know each other" thread. That's why I thought you live there :D

Actually recommended as the pill sometimes doesn't take.
