They don't have to list water for example. They get away with a lot.Mentioned this to a buddy of mine who eats a hell of a lot of bacon. His brother works for Eskort and his job entails quality checks and such, for bacon, from what I've gathered. My friend says that if there's anything in the bacon that's not bacon, his brother should be fired as they take that very seriously, so from Eskort's point of view you're safe at least.
Real bacon is bacon, salted to be preserved, aka cured. There should be no preservatives in bacon at all.
Artificially cured bacon will have preservatives in it. Naturally cured is well, natural.
Just checked a packet of Eskort shouder bacon and only pork, salt and preservatives. Very interesting..
Bacon is cured so it will always have additives.
I hate brine in bacon... makes it boil when you cook it.
