This must be take home pay as stated in the article. Otherwise it is WAY too low. So consider these amounts what is deposited in your bank account every month. Even 30k for a Senior Manager sounds a bit low but maybe the averaging exercise ruins the data? A Senior Manager in a big company earns in the 40's or 50's where as in a smaller business it'll be in the 20's. This also excludes bonuses I assume?

I think it's honestly BS i mean so what if you don't have a diploma surely your experience should be the thing that counts the most right?????

Yup. Diploma or whatever is just to get your foot in the door at your first or second job. Thereafter your experience should count for a lot more.

Figures seems a bit low to be honest, although my salary is lower than the average. Thats probably why i'm running my own company on the side.

The survey needs to be broken up into two sections.
One survey for JHB and CPT and another survey for the rest of the country.

For a professional IT worker in JHB the pay would be more in the 25K-35K range and IT management in the 35K-50K range. IT directors in the R50K-80K range.

People get paid more in JHB and CPT but house prices are also a lot higher so it balances things out a bit.

lol, same here, i earn HALF of the unskilled bracket! And have some nice certs! :) Those figures are probably for the software dev industry, def not the networking one!

That is not true - what networks are you working on? I can tell you no CCIE gets paid less then 600K per year! & if they do there is something wrong most get paid 800K plus.

Lets make sure we speaking about the same networking, Network + is not networking!

Did any one mention the word recession on that report, that's what my boss keeps on talking about.

</someone give me bleach to wash my boss' mouth>

Seems very low

Mmm, I also think these figures are way way too low. We hire based only on experience, diploma's and even degree's means absolutely *****. A guy with 2 years exp should earn no less than 20k. Depending on language maybe even more.

My 2c anyway.

ja but you gotta think about it I started working for an IT company while I was in high school part time and ok yes I moved up positions but nothing has changed with regards to my salary and no I dont have a diploma/degree I have 6yrs experience that should be good enough to be earning 10000+ a month right?

Just to survive, be able to afford a house, 2 Cars and send kids to school one should at least be earning over R 20k per month and then have a spouse salary also. A combined salary take home of over R 25k or your fk'd

Sad aint it
