The button for the survey pops up on most of the tech sites (mybb, mygaming, businesstech, techcentral) as well as Multichoices' websites (supersport, dstv, ...)

It popped up when I opened this forum page.

Nope, I know of at least 2 (just off-hand) MyBB guys that have no employed people at home.

Not being employed doesn't mean you don't have a house hold income...

But if your house hold income is less than R500 and you are spending it on Internet AND a flash capable device (ie. PC or andriod tablet - no BBM) then perhaps they need some finance counseling.

Highschool kids, Uni students, peanut! I'm 23400, so close to 25000 No wait, with overtime and shift allowance I probably get up to 27k pm, still not close to a decent living wage though!!

That's not a bad salary.
The average household income in some affluent JHB and PTA suburbs in 2010 was between about R24K and R28K so you're doing quite well considering that it's a single salary versus household income.

I'm also pretty sure people earning 70K+ do alot of internet banking...
Trying to figure out a real use for this data.

When you do the survey they ask about your use of the internet - do you shop, do you watch video, do you game, if you shop what items have you bought (dvds, books, flights, ...).

So through the gathering of some demographics, income data and internet activity data they must produce some stuff that they can sell to ad agencies and online shops.

No surprises here. barring it being dirty data as speculated I take my hat off to the folks who earn less than R500 a month and still has internet. Internet in SA is just not geared towards providing value to the poor. In other words... Internet is still kak expensive in SA!

I had to wait till I eared about R12k before I could even consider it - Things have gotten a bit better with prices as well as my income thankfully. More work remains though.

I am living in Pretoria East and close to the top earning one but I don't want to spend more than R2000 a month on internet.
