How noisy is your work environment?

Our office had white noise generators on all the floors when I started there...it was fantastic. About 3-4 years it "broke" and they never bothered to fix it...now I can hear a conversation 10 desks away, it is awful.

You cannot discuss anything confidential or private...everyone can hear your conversation.

Noisy day in the office yesterday.

I work in a pretty large building with 3500 or so other bods...you definitely notice when the white noise goes off. More annoying is the ringing of phones...the lady next to me doesn't answer till the 4th-5th ring even when she's sitting at her desk. Drives me nuts....luckily, I have a new desk from Monday in another area with my boss sitting next to me who gets that I don't do small talk. Going to be awesome.

Usually sitting in a client's boardroom, which tend to be pretty quiet & comfortable. Only problem is I'm not supposed to have headphones on. :( :( :(

I am in an open office with about 40 people. It's not the noise level. What annoys me is the disturbances. People just come to my desk wanting things every 5 to 10 minutes. It's like sleep apnea in the office.
I have tried working in other parts of the building , but then they just Lync me.

Can't get my own work done because I am always needed to resolve and issue or arbitrate some conflict.
Story of my life.

Yeah, the world would be a better place if more people understood context switches..

Did a Google and Machoy Acoustic Engineers solve the noise problems in big offices.

at just before 6am noise level is at 60 db... no one around yet will post again later

Customer center guys at my workplace are noisy as hell.
Their space is big and unpartitioned. I am in an office behind supposed to be sound proof doors but still hear everything!
Makes it quite hard to concentrate.

I work in a Lab with 3 other people. Its super quiet. Whenever a person walks in they will always comment on how quiet it is. Its lovely infact.
