How SABC doctors its Manto coverage

See they're up to their usual tricks!

Footage of the minister, including visuals of a subsequent Sunday Times front-page story accusing Tshabalala-Msimang of being a “thief and a drunk”, were also removed from SABC TV archives.

Several sources, who did not want to be named for fear of

Manga is said to be one of the MD of News Snuki Zikalala’s closest allies.

What happened to the part inbetween? Did the SABC censor that aswel?

Top-level SABC executives have also been named as having “edited” certain stories in a manner that could be considered unethical practice in a commercial media organisation.

Arseholes. And I have to pay a license fee for this.
:eek::eek:

We all know by now that the SABC is ANC-BC.
So from now on, we should not be surprised if anything on ANC-BC is ANC

Yawn, yawn, yawn..oh I'm getting sleepy on a Friday

LOL so thats why Manto said in an e.tv clip "I only talk to SABC News"

This kind of thing doesnt just happen in South Africa it happens all over the world, but some people will use this an argument that the country is going downhill etc  ... there is nothing wrong with kind of thing happening, they need to protect their image in the public eye, it happens in the USA a lot. Look at Iraq coverage for example...

Difference is, they don't quite have a monopolistic setup like we do. SABC is currently the only news service the majority of people in SA can afford and watch "freely"...so it's all they get. In contrast, in the USA you got a FOX vs. ABC [and a whole range of other channels] which is at least -equally- accessible . So end result, if FOX makes the president look good by editing stuff, then ABC can make him look equally bad by doing the same.

E.TV simply can't compete at this stage, they try to be "objective", but essentially just gives us the same as SABC just without all the roses. This means we have SABC = biased towards govt. , E.TV = semi-objective [without actually providing anything different] ....and then there's nothing that really criticizes the govt....major imbalance.

In other words : SABC will say "Our clever and wonderful president visited Tshwane today" . ETV will say " Our president visited Pretoria today " ...there's no one saying "Our unconvincing president visited Pretoria today, he didn't achieve much there , fortunately we have better news for you today..." .

The ONLY media outlet i've seen having a serious go at the govt. so far is the Sunday Times.....but they are also being "manipulated" far more than is fair under "Freedom of speech" laws.

Broadcasters in the US are not funded by Government.

I do miss the days of BJ Vorster when nothing was censored on SABC. What? It was censorship? What? This is EXACTLY like the bad old days of Apartheid? What? The ANC is no better than the NP when it comes to censoring news?

Well, this is all news to me :D

BWAHAHAHA! Sometimes I amuse myself.
