Unfortunately my good man, the tank has to be dropped and drained, rinsed out completely.As far as damages, best case a new fuel filter is all you need, worst case is clogged injectors. Most of the time though just getting rid of the fuel in tank is enough. All the best. Garage should cover the cost, I know a similar thing happened to a friend of mine with an old Toyota and the garage covered the cost of repairs.

It is the customer's responsibility to request the correct fuel, and it is the petrol joggie's responsibility to ensure he does as the customer requested.
And if they want to enforce that it is the customers responsibility then allow the customer to dispense the fuel himself.
Jup, it was all fixed on Tuesday, after ducking and diving, they took responsibility.

I don't know what was done to fix it but I would still replace the fuel filter, it's cheap.

I'm of the opinion that it's my car, paid for with my hard earned money, I will be responsible for what happens to it. IE, not to abdicate that responsibility to some minimum wage fuel attendant who likely can barely read.

If the attendant accidently put in diesel then it is the filling stations responsibility to sort the problem out. If they don't want to then you need to get their head office involved. My mother had this happen. Car was left at the filling station and a loan car was provided. They sorted out the issue within half a day.
