EDIT:

OK guys just tested myself.

WARNING:

1) You will have no service
2) You will have to repeat the process each time you reboot

So i would stay away for now!!!

As usual, someone has found a way to get the iOS 5 beta working on our iDevices! I cannot confirm it is working yet, so be sure to save those SHSH Blobs in case you need to revert back to an older firmware.

Full instructions and SHSH Blobs tutorial link at the link below!

Dam this is tempting.......

Even more so when you know there is a jailbreak for it as well.

Thanx for the warning. So maybe I will just wait like a normal person for now.

Seriously what plonker would release this into the wild without mentioning the most important two things.. .No service and you have to do it each time you reboot.... Some real idiots out there.

Nonetheless i'm glad to say I am finally back on 4.3.3 with signal after a few atempts!! Thank god..

For anyone else in the same situation, you don't need SHSH blobs to downgrade back to 4.3.3. So just restore back to 4.3.3 normally in iTunes.

Jeepers, this place is dangerous ... LOL! When I saw this I wanted to jump straight in ... but as I read further I realised ... wokaai ... wag net so bietjie ...

Well I am thinking of going to buy a cheap iPod touch just now, just so I can try this.

Should be about R2000 or less for them now?

I don't know how Apple can expect us to wait until October. I hope a more solid beta solution comes soon.

With delta OTA patching there are far less risks now so let the users have the beta versions. Let the world test. Do it like Google :) .

So installing this on a iPod Touch that is always on would hold no risk, the iPod is connected to a clock radio dock 99% of the time.

Lemme know if you do it. I am seriously thinking of buying a touch, just to play with this.

I will let you know, I am most definitely going to do this on my iPod, just have to wait a couple hours for the download.

The steps to do this on a iPod Touch for anyone else to also try are:

Step 1: Restore to the iOS5 Beta using iTunes.
Step 2: On the setup screen, push the home button 3 time until VoiceOver activates.
Step 3: Hold the time on the status bar.
Step 4: Drag down the screen with 3 fingers.
Step 5: Tap twice on the Y!
Step 6: Push the home button.

Yeah on iPod Touch it should work fine, but will it activate? Otherwise each time you reboot you have to do the same.. Not sure if the Touch's require activation though?

Anyways, rapidblue is selling UDID slots for whoever wants to give iOS 5 beta a shot! Only 5 dolla :p So give him a shout over at iPhoneZA forums

I already know how to skip the activation on the iPod Touch, as posted above.

Will probably have to repeat the trick each time, but I'm not planning on rebooting, but being a beta it might crash once or twice, but it takes 10 seconds to skip the activation.

Edit: Doesn't look like it's going to happen today, my Windows is slowly dying.
