Who can't cook? Can those guys who live on their own flats share experiences.

Step 1: 2 minute noodles
Step 2: Buy a cookbook
Step 3: Eat noodles while teaching yourself to cook.

Buy essential equipment:
Stove (or at least a two plate cooker)
Fridge (for beer and food)
Microwave oven
Frying pan
Pots (at least 2).
Cutting board
Cooking spoons, spatula, egg-lifter, etc.
Cutlery
Plates
Cups

Teach yourself to cook. It's really easy! (I started out on my own in St.8 (Gr10)...)

There are plenty of online recipes:

Chuck a bunch of onions, meat, en vegetables in a pot and see how it turns out. It WILL be a car crash but improve on that and continue honing your skill.

Order pizza every night :D.

Watch master aus and you will be sorted :D. You will need 2 hours a night.

For some reason it grosses me out to work with raw food.

Make friends with your neighbors, especially the ones that have nice cooking smells coming from their flats. Make a deal with them for 1 meal a day and pay them for it.

I mean you wake up at 6.30. You go to work, come back at 6.00, tired and all, then have to hit the books! Can't one make it in a cook-free environment?

Nice idea. How much is too much for a full meal?

Can just cook the rice/spaghetti/whatever and buy pre-cooked meals from the shops.

I'm also going to be living in a flat in a week. Have some basic cooking skills. I'm going to have some flatmates so hopefully they can help me get better...

Well it takes me 30 minutes or less from preparation, to sitting down to eat, yes then there is still dishes to be done so add another 10mins for that (really doesnt take long to wash a few pots and one plate)
Just have to be organized, go to Jamie Oliver browse around a bit and try a recipe you like, yes first few time will probably no be perfect but practice is all that is going to help, nobody just stands up one day and decides that hey I can now cook.

The problem with the precooked stuff is that is usually very bad for you, too much salt not enough fiber.

someone at work pays R45 per meal, some lady here in pretoria that cooks the morning delivers at around 1pm, that includes salad, main, dessert, the main is usuall enough that he eats the leftovers the next morning for breakfast. set menu that he chooses from e.g mon fish tue chicken wed beef etc
