I would like to set up a print spool with my small mac network. I have 4 macs on a LAN. What is the best way, and what software do I need. I want to be able to send print files to a central folder, and that folder spools the prints.

Do I need Mac OS server, or is there other software that is capable of doing this. I want to be able to print to the spool folder in Photoshop, so will need software that will work with the Adobe software.

Any help will be much appreciated.

Not sure I understand - why not share the printer and let that take care of the spooling?

OsX uses CUPS which you can also access via http://127.0.0.1:631/

My problem is I send quite alot of files to the printer, and it only has 32MB memory. So sometimes. It runs into errors due to insufficient memory. I would like an app that will manage the printer spooling better so that I don't run into this issue.

Is the printer directly on the network or on via a mac?

If you use cups (i.e. what OSX uses) the jobs will spool on the computer automatically. If you're still running out of memory, then the individual print jobs are probably more than the printer's memory can handle.
