I read that few setup steps need be done before i even connect the device but i dont find any step by step help to get it going.

please can i get some assistance?

AFAIK the first step is to get an Unotelly trial account, so Roku sees you as a US citizen.

do i use the trail unotelly accout to setup or must i setup a full account? If im setting up my roku account using paypal what address do i use?

Trial should be fine. It is for 8 days, thereafter you can decide to buy or go for one of the other free options. It gives you a primary and secondary DNS address to put into your router or NIC.

Yes, once you running via UnoTelly, you can setup a US Roku account.

If you want to setup UK Roku account, you must use the VPN by UnoTelly (3 day trial) and create it that way. Once the account is created though, you no longer have to use the VPN. You can even log onto your UK account no problem without VPN.

You needn't use the VPN to set up the UK account - simply select the desired country under the Dynamo Settings

I did read up on the watch espn but like few channels i already came accross looks like you need US cable details. Any idea of how to work around this?

Would also love to get the details of a US cable account to activate other stuff. Not sure it is possible.

There is a way, but its gonna cost you a k@k load. You might as well just use DSTV Premium.

First off you will need to change your Roku account to a UK account. Then register for NowTV (Sky) and downlaod the Roku App. Then buy the weekly NowTV sports package which offers Sky Sports for only....ta da daaaa....10.99 GBP <-- thats the weekly cost :wtf:

Waaat so then back at square one WHICH IS DSTV? Is it worth doing the whole uk roku account? Is the content better?

I prefer British TV so for me it is.

On my Roku I have the following:
BBC iPLayer (Free - This is the BEST free TV you will find anywhere IMO)
Netflix US (I prefer the US Netflix though - $7.99)
NowTV (Entertainment package - 6.99 GBP, This is pretty much the same as MNet with latest series plus catchup)
SkyNews (Free)
Demand 5 (Free - Almost as good as BBC)
4OD (Free)
ITV (Free)
BBC News (Free)
BBC Sport (Free, but extremely limited to what is shown. Last weekend there was snooker :D)
Crackle (Free)

No Hulu though, thats only for US account

I have those on my NowTV box and Netflix/Hulu on my Rokus. Obviously I can't put Netflix on the NowTv box but at least it's good for something. :)

Thanks, is is great :)

After i set up everything was working fine but last night when i was playing around i tried to go into the roku channel search and kept kicking me out saying iyd unavailable i should try later to no success. All my connections arr fine and i could play content from few channels i added already so there was a connection. I have not tried again today. Does this happen? Did anyone ese encounter this problem?

Unfortunately I can't check for you because Roku UK account doesn't have channel search functionality.

Just make sure you update your IP address of your ADSL at UnoTelly. You can do it on the website, but they also have a windows app that runs in the background that periodically checks for changes and updates UnoTelly if you IP changes.

If you go into the Unotelly website, a banner will pop up to tell you the IP has changed. Click on the link and voila.
