How to setup a roku account

Will i need to do this daily?

ISP's reset your IP address normally once every 24 hours. That said, I have kept the same IP address for 2 weeks sometimes. So the answer is yes.

Basically, UnoTelly needs the current IP address of your ADSL line to work. If the IP address at UnoTelly differs from your current IP address, none of the DNS bypassing will work for you anymore.

There is an Android app you can also download if you connect to wifi at home. It has a button "Update my IP" that also works. Alternatively, use the windows app to automatically update.

Aaaah i get it... you guys are a great great help. Would still be lost. Thanks.
Is there a better / cheaper option for dns other than unotelly. Just thinking ahead once my trail expires.

I tried 2 others, the names escape me though, but UnoTelly just worked all the time. For the R50 per month, it worth it.

I prefer British TV so for me it is.

On my Roku I have the following:
BBC iPLayer (Free - This is the BEST free TV you will find anywhere IMO)
Netflix US (I prefer the US Netflix though - $7.99)
NowTV (Entertainment package - 6.99 GBP, This is pretty much the same as MNet with latest series plus catchup)
SkyNews (Free)
Demand 5 (Free - Almost as good as BBC)
4OD (Free)
ITV (Free)
BBC News (Free)
BBC Sport (Free, but extremely limited to what is shown. Last weekend there was snooker :D)
Crackle (Free)

No Hulu though, thats only for US account

Are these your total costs? excluding Unotelly and your ADSL line.

Yebo, I only pay for NowTV and Netflix.

Netflix = R94.83 ($7.99)
NowTV = R129.25 (6.99 GBP)

Not sure how you are on the sports side, but hows the sport coverage on NowTv? European football?

I have those on my NowTV box and Netflix/Hulu on my Rokus. Obviously I can't put Netflix on the NowTv box but at least it's good for something. :)

Its a pity you haven't got SkyNews. I enjoy watching it when I get home in the evening.

There is a free DNS hosted by a member here. http://mybroadband.co.za/vb/showthread.php/629797-Testers-Wanted-Netflix-DNS-Proxy It only works for Netflix though on a Roku3. It was working, but broke down in December. He has not fixed it yet. I used it for a few days and it worked brilliantly. Was about to donate when it went belly up on Hulu. I then paid money into Unotelly and have not looked back.

So, if you are only going to use it for Netflix, this is your answer. It might also work on other channels, but have not tested it.

Looks decent enough. And i take it these are available only on a uk account? Is there any easy way of swapping between us and uk accounts?

Yes, only on UK Roku account.

For swapping, you will need to have both a US and UK Roku account. You then reset your Roku and log on with the appropriate account.

I updated my post above. Each package on NowTV is its own price. So if you want the Sport and Movie packages, you pay both subs to NowTV.

A word of warning, NowTV buffers sometimes, and I have yet to get better than SD quality. The old YouTube trick pause for a couple minutes and play works to build up a buffer which seems to work in most cases. Works better on my Xbox One so I think it is something to do with the Roku App.

Ok so 1 email address for us and one for uk....i would set up the uk account same like the us but just change my country to uk? And just use a McDonald's address again? it wont cause any problems with the roku changing accounts not daily but say 4 or 5 times monthly? I just got the roku so i think ill wait on the now tv. I want to get it working properly and get to understand it.

I've got SkyNews but it's on my US Roku.

It's also available on the NowTV box - I was just highlighting the ones on your list I use that I've installed on on that box. :)

The sky sports looks likes its gonna satisfy my needs. Its either the sky way or espn. Sky looks more appealing.

You can swop between US and UK Roku accounts - I have - but remember it's going to want to download all the apps you have chosen for the respective stores each time you swap and you're going to have to set up the Roku from scratch each time so it's a lengthy process. That's why I kept the NowTV box when I swapped my Rokus to the US store for Hulu+. :)

Where do you find the nowtv? How much does it go for? I would only have the netflix and few other channels on the US account so shouldn't be too much of an issue.
