How to use Cloudflare Warp Plus on your PC

Bumping this thread.

Anyone notice speed issues with Cloudflare Warp?

I have Warp Plus but it's not as fast as it used to be.

I have had Warp+ since December 2019 already and it's been gradually slowing down. Now on a 1Gbps line I can't even reach half my line speed.

LOL if only it was true, odd result if you ask me. Second test was more on par with my line but download speed is still solid.

Definitely not just you, but tbh, it's so sporadic and random that I don't even know how to call it in.

Sometimes I get saturated speeds, others less than half. Sometimes I get better results without Plus, and usually most of the time, Google traffic suffers the most on my end.

I don't have much use for it now since moving to fiber but it at least definitely helped tremendously with poor routing and steadying international traffic.

So just for perspective. ^ Was with Warp on.

Below same server but direct. So it's either throttling of some kind or maybe congestion but I would expect increased latency if it was congestion. Checked my CPU and it's not even using much so not a pc bottleneck.

Warp has been a headache trying to get it to work well with IPv6. Funny that such a big company that is pushing IPv6 everywhere they can't get it to work properly on their own network.

so engage.cloudflareclient.com is the endpoint for warp.

It has V4 and V6 but if you use the cloudflare warp app then ISP <> Warp is V4 and they translate that to V6 for the internet. It keeps preferring v4.

So to force it to V6 I use wireguard and use the v6 anycast address.

This will force the Cloudflare <> ISP to be on V6 and it does but then Cloudflare is being funny. Now everything on the internet to cloudflare warp is v4.
 
I recently resumed my WARP+ subscription (Play Store)... It's been two weeks and I still can't restore the purchase in the app, says it's still being processed. Is this purely a cloudflare issue (I presume it is) or is there a workaround?

Me too, each time I've taken a sub it's been an issue. Not nearly as bad as this time though. Feels like robbery... Even if it's a tiny amount.
 
Ohh no. They added Cogent to the transit providers....

Well there goes the neighbourhood :cautious: Still have my sub since Dec 2019

Do you have any IPs I can run a trace to, to test this?
From their CPT POP it seems like they are still using work online for transit, might just be their JHB POP using cogent.

185.21.217.5 This goes via Seacom which is not bad. Cogent are the pits to be honest. They offer affordable transit to EU from JHB but it's not worth it.

Cogent only offers transit from JHB so makes sense unless ISPs or carriers transit it to JHB cogent will likely not be used in CPT or DUR

Doesn't CISP use cogent? I'm in CT and see cogent on my traces from time to time and my traffic isn't going to JHB

CISP is carrying the traffic to the UK using their own capacity and handing it over to cogent in the UK, where as warp in JHB hands it over to cogent in JHB and gets carried overseas via cogents capacity.

Ah okay i see was going to say cogent has seemed pretty reliable and decent, much more stable than HE back in the day
 
Yeah CISP hands it to Cogent in London. Not bad but Cogent directly from JHB is the pits. It's so bad.

The take traffic where they feel latency doesn't matter to them.

They will take traffic to a New York ip from JHB > via KZN > Marseille > Amsterdam > London > New York

They change routes daily and it's unreliable.
 
So Seacom has lit additional circuits on Equiano on both East and West. Was thinking that Cloudflare Warp would be great to test the new latencies out to see if it's taking those routes but looks like JHB they have completely switched over to Cogent Co. American based transit provider and since Cogent Co has expanded capacity in JNB.

I see almost all traffic on Warp is Cogent now from JHB.

Any IPs you want me to try test from CT? If I recall we get a blend of Seacom and Workonline
