Ok, I get brand preference.

Well, I don't get brand preference :p

I just can't wrap my head around people wanting a 10k+ Nvidia card when something half the price can match or outperform it. It boggles me.

When I prefer a brand, I usually have reasons for doing so - not just "because I like it and I'm a fanboi" :p

Wait you sold a 460 so you could upgrade but you won't upgrade unless you can get an R11k card? LOL!

Not wanting to get into this debate too heavily but Nvidia is currently still the better card imo.
Physx alone is comparison enough.

Comparing a game like Assassin's creed Black Flag on Nvidia compared to AMD is fairly noticeable.
The amount of physx particles being used just makes the AMD look boring imo.

lol.

I take it you haven't heard of Mantle?

Try keeping up to date before trying to look smart.

If you read my post, I have no sold it yet.
Well if you have a buyer then just sell it. But there's no reason you won't be happy with a lower spec card - Nvidia or AMD. A 760 for instance would max out anything at 1920; on my 660ti I even max any game I play except Crysis3 which is ridiculous. And a 460 was never more than a midrange card to begin with. 780ti is really just to mop up the suckers to be honest; the p/p ratio is way out of whack. 290x is about 95% as fast for 2/3rds the price.

I wasn't trying to be smart.
I was giving my own real world experience.

Mantle is also not launched yet so i don't know how you can even compare them not having seen evidence.
It's not like I make no effort to actually read about these things.

The whole point of buying an expensive R11200 card is so it can last me around 8 years, If i do buy a R9 290X it would have to be replaced in about 5 years.

so you can get a
R290x @ R7,499.00
and
780ti@ R9,744.00

That is a difference of R 2300.00 and how much move do you get from the 780ti? At best you may get 10fps more on some games but even then the R290x has beaten the 780ti in a few games. I would not pay 2k more for just that. But if I had the money yes I would. But then again If I had all the money I would just slap in 4 way SLI

1) Why would a card that performs within 95% of another card need to be replaced 3 years sooner?
2) There is no card on earth that will last you 8 years. Do you see anyone gaming on a 7800gtx now? You're being very unrealistic. In 3 years time 4k monitors will be standard, and your 780 will be obsolete. If you're a person who needs the kind of top shelf performance of a 780+, you are not going to be happy in 3 years time turning settings down to medium to be playable.
3) A graphics card is not an investment, it's a toy.

Well If my GTX 460 got me this far (it can still play latest games on high) imagine how long a GTX780Ti will last.

From a review site

What card should you buy? We still have mixed feelings about this as the AMD Radeon R9 290X 4GB is the clear price versus performance winner at 4K. On the other hand the NVIDIA GeForce GTX 780 Ti 3GB led more times than not, but we just can’t get over the 3GB of memory filling up in Far Cry 3 to say that it the must have card for 4K gaming. We aren’t sure how much frame buffer is going to be used by games coming out in 2014, so how big of a deal is it really? If you are willing to lower the image quality where needed and don’t have any budget concerns the GeForce GTX 780 Ti looks like it would be the way to go. If you are budget conscious and don’t want to pay a third more for a 13% performance boost in the game titles then stick with the AMD Radeon R9 290X.

About as long as a 780, or 770, or 760, or R9 280X or R9 290 or R9 290x; or really any decent range card that you can afford. 460 was a R3000 card when you got it.

I can save up, hence i want to sell it and run my CPU graphics

The thing with Nvidia's top shelf cards is, they're generally the fastest cards on the market, but they charge an insane premium for it, out of whack with their real performance. You only get those cards to brag; certainly not with a view to longevity.

To that end, while NVIDIA can still charge top dollar for their flagship card it’s a sign of the times and of the competition that they released their fully enabled GK110 part as a cheaper GTX 780 series card. At $700 it’s by no means cheap – and this has and always will be the drawback to NVIDIA’s flagships so long as NVIDIA can hold the lead – but it also means that NVIDIA does need to take AMD’s Radeon R9 290 series into account. As such the 290X and the GTX 780, though lesser performing parts, will remain as spoilers for GTX 780 Ti due to their better balance of performance and pricing. All the while GTX 780 Ti stands at the top of the heap for those who want the best.

So if you've got a view to maximising your long term gaming ability, it would simply be wiser to scale down to the notch below. But, it's your money and I wouldn't turn down a 780ti.

Oh to answer the OP's question, my wife has this GFX card on her laptop. Games run okay at low settings but that is it.
