Too scared of planes, love this damn place, so cant leave the country for Aus  ..so will stay and vote for the other guys.

Gran will have to forgive me :D

Let’s spice up this thread a little. What incentive does non-white voters have to vote for any other party other than the Shield and spear?

Other parties dont support EE or BEE or have a relaxed view on it. To mention one thing.

If your only criteria is BEE then go ahead and lump yourself firmly in the "uneducated masses" category immediately.

As my ex-business partner used to say "I'd sooner vote for a well run government than for the ANC" - yes, he is non-white and proud of it. He must be a coconut... He used to be a staunch ANC supporter as well...

lets vote ANC because BEE has been a resounding success... oh wait no. My mistake.

And what incentive does white voters have for voteing for the shield and spear vs Botox Lady?
You answered the question my friend! NONE! thats what
non-white voters have nothing to gain if they dont vote for the spear and
white voters have nothing to gain if they dont vote for botox!

Love our politics

The one incentive that could be given is just basic respect. Which also makes me doubt those who think they are informed- Are you stupid enough not to realize what the issue really is. Malema is beating you at the polls and your only reaction is to insult people you should be trying to win over. Calling them uneducated, stupid, un-informed, a danger to democrary etc.

If you think you are better than someone, you challenge him and beat him. If you don't, then you are admitting defeat. If you know how to best run the country, you step up to the plate. Don't sit in a corner and complain. Go out there and win some votes. Elections are won by votes and votes are not won by alienating the electorate, insulting them at every corner. And if you think that is too much work, then get it into your head that Malema is better than you.

In a democracy, it is the will of the majority that prevails. Anyone who sneers at the majority will remain on the outside. It doesn't matter whether the policies are the best, whether the members are educated or the party is slick - It will remain the bridesmaid. And everyone who fails to see this is dumber than the ANC supporters.

A functional goverment (apart from the Finance Ministry). I want pot holes in my home town to be filled up with tar, not some stupid river sand  The local park looks like the Amazon.

As far as I know its only the DA that has been putting some pressure on my local ANC run droppie..

So yeah, I m non-white and yet there are things more important to me than EE/BEE.

And I know tons of my non-white friends who feel the same..guess we must be some hardcore coconuts then :D

What does that mean really?

Not white?

I think the issue is about voting based on principles, competence and <insert other wholesum values here> and not on race..
I prefer saying a person is black, white, and etc. This non-white, non-black doesn't sound real to me. IMO.
Unfortunately in SA, we vote based on race, other stuff are secondary. Sad but true.
Does voting ANC mean that that particular individual is "uneducated" - that's the impression I get every time here.
