How will the ANC rig this election?

Less potholes is all good and well but you probably would not have a job if your company had no EE targets. Sad but true.

So no income, hungry but less potholes? Somethings are just plain more important than others.

True, but if we gonna appoint a city engineer, why not go for qualified people only. this thing of position-dumping a posts with people just because the are relatives of your cousin's ex is not on..

appoint qualified people black or white, is that too much to ask for

Let me state i dont defend the ANC they have f* up this and that and have corrupt and lazy officials here and there. They have done a few good things though our economy is fine, free basic services, housing(slowly) and the like.

I'm voting for EE & BEE to stay for a very long time still and if that means i have to vote ANC so be it. I need a job although i have good qualifications, experience and i'm good in interviews i still feel that a racist manager will throw my CV away if there where no legislation to keep him in check. It might not ever happen but if it happens once that's one too many!

Ye I also think BEE is a bit harsh and not needed, BUT its what happens if its not in the legislation that will really get to me.

I also hate this practice but are DA officials immune to this type of thing? Once they rule this will never happen right?

Can never be sure with politics, my friends today can turn-out to be foes in the future.

Lol, you are voting for the upliftment of the few billionaires. Awesome!
Strangely enough, BEE did not get you your job, but you will never see that because of something. I don't quite know what that something is.

No BEE didnt but EE might have i dont know if HR had to keep my manager in check. If employment equity didnt give me my job atleat it gave thousands of other EE candidates their jobs.

Another thing that the ANC is doing right... other than that they're fat and lazy

I can see your reason for voting that way but do you consider the other effects of BEE? Sure life is then great for you but what about the rest of us

I'm not really worried about BEE just employment equity. White males(the others) should not be discriminated against and i dont feel they are being discriminated against they still get jobs last two companies i worked for they where being employed more often than equity candidates. Those companies never made their equity targets cause for every equity candidate they employed they employed 4-5 non equity candidates. These are major companies, leaders in their fields i'm not going to mention names.

So you tell me should i then be concerned for "the others"?

In your opinion though were the people the best capable for the job or not? Cause that's all I care about, if they deserve the job they should get it, not that I'm saying in your example that the non equity candidates did deserve it, am just saying in general.

I'm all for AA/EE. Few years ago when I got my first job, I didn't get it because I was a better candidate in terms of my experience, I got it because of this whole AA/EE thing. Then I took the opportunity to learn and now I can use that experience to get a non-EE/AA job.

People were discriminated against in the past, and we have to do something about that. So if these companies are not willing to do that, then the government has to force these laws. because at the end of the day, these companies are operating in our country. If we didn't have this discrimination, we wouldn't have this situation.

In some cases they definitely definitely where not!! Sometimes even friends or acquaintances!! Other times they where and i'm fine with that.

Amen if COPE, DA, ID, ABC, DEF, whoever came out and supported AA/EE to its full extent they WILL get my vote no questions

Let’s spice up this thread a little. What incentive does non-white voters have to vote for any other party other than the Shield and spear?

Other parties dont support EE or BEE or have a relaxed view on it. To mention one thing.

Go and edukate yourself before making false statements!

Cape Town - Black economic empowerment (BEE) contracts in Cape Town has increased to 50% compared to 40% under African National Congress rule, new DA leader Helen Zille said on Friday.
The Democratic Alliance (DA) rules in a multi- party coalition in the province.

The Democratic Alliance (DA) welcomes reports that the Department of Trade and Industry is reviewing our national Black Economic Empowerment strategies. The DA has always supported the principle of BEE, because we believe that our society has a moral and economic imperative to ensure that there is broad based empowerment. However, we are concerned that the reworked proposals will do nothing for ordinary South Africans who desperate for a foothold in the economy.

Cape Town - Poverty, job creation, promoting economic growth and broad-based empowerment should remain the primary priorities for the medium-term budget policy statement to be introduced by finance minister Trevor Manuel in Parliament on Tuesday, the DA said Sunday.

Yes Digital thats great and i know all this i'm "edukated" as you say. But what will they do once they're in power and can now make/break/amend or fiddle with legislation?

In their case they had no choice big daddy(national goverment) set them some targets and its their job to do something about it and they did a GREAT job.

K just so I can get an understanding on your point of view would you say that everyone then not discriminated in the past and therefore not affected by apartheid should then get these benefits that the 1's who were discriminated against or should they be treated the same as me who never lived during the apartheid times?

If it was possible to seperate them from the rest that would have been great but it isn't so would you rather no do anything about it? Not do anything to right the wrongs that apartheid caused? Thats your ideal goverment?

Geez you're smug! All of you with this mindset!
